My grandmother's Last name is Famania. She is from Baja California Sur. We don't much about our ancestors though. Last year my parents looked at the census forms and saw that my great-great grandfather had written in that he was from Nueva Grenada, which I think was panama?

I have seen on the mormon web site that a famania from the correct time and the same first name was born in spain.

I don't know if this is of any help.

Dear Mr. Ademar Famania Toro
You recommented that I call Julio Famania my uncle. He is a basis of my search.
You are a Famania; you came from the same place Santa Isabel and lived near by in Salina. I believe you knew my grandfather Julio E. Famania. I also believe you and him are related. I know of my grandfather's Civic Activist work. I know he was a great man. I regret not getting this information earlier, when they all were living. Some relatives cannot recall, some refuse to talk about it and some just do not know at all. All I want is information on my grandfather's Family History. Who were the Famanias' who were his grandparents? Who were his uncles and aunts? All this information will be saved in my genealogy book "My Family History"for my children and the future generations.
I have a Family Tree but, I only have a few branches and part of the trunk its difficult getting to the roots.
I do not even come close to Alex Hailey, however I admire his great achievement in the search of his Roots.

Hi Miriam,
I went to High School in National City California with a Famania Family. I believe they all still live here in San Diego County. Oscar Famania is one of the brothers, they have a construction company called "Famania Construction" listed in the phone book 619-267-3440. Hope this helps any.
