I am interested in finding information about the Ronquillo Granados family from Chihuahua, Mexíco. My father is (José) Ramón Ronquillo Salgado, born 7/31/09 in El Partido de la Fuente, Cuidad Juarez, Chih . His father was Ignacio Ronquillo born in Pilar de Conchos aproximately 1855 and his mother Angela Salgado Navarette born around 1875 in Mioqui, Chihuahua. I know that, my great-paternal grandfather, was Francisco Ronquillo and my great-paternal grandmother was Silveria (no last name). Francisco and Silveria had Gregorio, José and Ignacio and (others?) My mother is (Emma) Ofelia Granados Olivas de Ronquillo. Her father was Manuel Granados Pacheco, son of Petra Pacheco and Manuel Granados. Her mother was Maria Olivas Cisneros born in Jimenez, Chih.about 1865, daughter of Pablo Olivas and Paula Cisneros. Any information or ideas of where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Two Ronquillos who were in the "Primera Compania Volante de Nueva Vezcaya" in 1798 were Jose Ramon Ronquillo of "el Valle de San Bartolome", and Jose Ronquillo of the Presidio de Janos. You might want to look in these locations. My own Ronquillo family were from Babonollaba, Chihuahua, MX and appear in records for Santa Isabel (General Trias), Chi. and Chihuahua, Chi., in the 1870s. What films did you view for your records? They may help in my own search. My ancestors were Juan Ronquillo and Maria de los Dolores Aguilar. Two of their children were Francisca Ronquillo b.c. 1855 and Apolonio Ronquillo

I have justbegun looking for my hispanic side and my wife found your message. I have a Jose Antonio Ronquillo NFD who was suppose to have gone to Mexico from Spain (in the early 1800's) and married a Juana Guellen. This is all the information I have and it was gotten by work of mouth. Is there any possibility that you have any link to that Ronquillo. They had a duaghter named Atala Ronquillo who married my ggrandfather, Juan Lopez.
Thanks....

Ronquillo

Sorry, I have not run across those particular names. Do you have a location in Mexico where they lived? Lots of information we get from relatives is that our ancestors came from Spain in the 1800s, when in fact their families had been here for generations prior to this. Have you searched the Family History Center computer? The surname Guellen seems unusual and Ronquillo is not that common, either.

She died in Mexico and my greatgrandfather, Luis, came to California were he died . My grandmother had brothers named Rito and Manuel and sisters named Emmeteria, Belen and Jovita. My grandfather David Rocha had brothers named Tomas and Avelino and a sister named Jesusita. If this rings a bell with you please let me know. Thank you!

Hello -
I am a Pacheco - but my husband's family migrated from Spain to Toa Alta, PR. They currently live in the US.

I know the Pacheco name is very old and very common. I have seen this name in Mexico, France, Spain, Equador, Columbia Portugal, and islands in the carribbean - Cuba and Puerto Rico.

I learned that the name Pacheco originated in Portugal - the first rendition being pacierco - spelling has changed over the years. The "first" known Pacheco happened to be some assistant to Julius Ceasar - he then migrated to Portugal. What do you know of this name? I am trying to trace our family and need help. My email address is Loucynt@aol.com. Please respond. Thank You.

Cynthia Pacheco

Hi I read your mail, I´m just doing the same thing - looking for the origins of my family , sorry for my bad english .
I´m from Brazil, your text was very interesting for me, because you have written about the first was Pacheco assistant to Julius Ceasar - it was amazing.

The only thing that I know is that my grandfather lived in a state called Paraiba between 1920-1935 . Some years later that my father Oscar Pacheco de Oliveira moved to Rio de Janeiro , my grandmother´s name was Antonina Maria da Silva - very commons names - Do you know any place on the web where can find some information about this?

In the lines below one information that I found today in a brazilian site:
In Portugal there is a city named Pacheca. In century XV, they have documents where it appears like Pacheico. The Pacheco´s were descendants from Fernão Jeremias, an important man who served a Lord called D. Henrique. The first man called Pacheco in the kingdom was Fernão Rodrigues Pacheco, he defended the castle of Celorico to another lord named "Conde" (in portuguese) of Bolonha.

Antionette: pleased to encounter your posting. I entered Compania Volante de Nueva Vizcaya as a net topic and was informed that the companias were made up of Tlaxcalan Indians who lived separately from the rest of the indigenous peoples and were kind of a police employed by the spanish, for example to track down indians who were, i suppose, not toeing the spanish line.you can look it up as well...I am interested because I see Ronquillo intermarried with Fierro. And by the way my grandparents were from Satevo which is very near to Baballonaba (Babayonaba). Thanks again, Antonio
