Jose Antonio Rodriguez Caro 1722-1788 Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua

Is anyone else researching Salvador Rodriguez who was born about 1700 in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua?

I've found a possible birthdate for him of December 26, 1699 just across the border in Durango, Mexico.

My Salvador Rodriguez's confirmed son is Jose Antonio Rodriguez born in Hidalgo del Parral in 1722.

This Salvador Rodriguez from Durango's father is also named Antonio, leading me to believe this is the right hombre, since fathers often name their sons after their own fathers.

I have a LOT more information on this line to share with fellow researchers.

Brusuelas-Lucero from Juarez Chihuahua Mexico

Researching Brusuelas family from Juarez starting with Juan Francisco Brusuelas and Maria Faustina Lucero. So far have my 4th great grandmother Maria Anastacia and her sister Maria Theresa born in 1817. Have no DOB for Maria Anastacia. I do have her marriage date, husband and 5 children. Has anyone put together the Brusuelas in the FHL web site?

I have found a lot of Robles there, and am almost sure a few Bustamante as well.

The computer where I have all my records is in the repair shop. I'll take a look at what I have after I pick it up next week.

I hope you get the info you need and if you do I hope to see it here. Maybe I (my husband's line) can connect to your line.

In my husband's Carreon line he had great grandparents where the two were surnamed Carreon, which could be French. This great-grandfather was said to be lost through the Indians who took him. His son, my husband's grandfather, was taken by Pancho Villa with the Dorados, and never heard from again.

Please let me know if you run into the surnames of Sigala and Legaretta during your Carreon research-both of which could also be French.

We are doing some research for one of my daughters classes on genealogy and found that my grandfathers father was Jesus Carreon apparantly the Mayor of Columbus New Mexico. Thank you Sandee. I don't think that this is the right family. My grandmother came into the country with just her father. Her entire family died in Mexico before her father brought her to stay with relatives. I don't think that this is the right person. Thank you anyway!

My last name is Aguilar. I know my family comes from a small farming community named Rancho Aguiilar(es) which is not to far from Babonoyaba. Currently I still have family in Rancho San Augustin which is even closer to Babonoyaba. Also I have family currently in Babonoyaba, but those are through my grandmother's surname of Rivero, (they have since married and now carry a different name).

El aeropuerto de Chihuahua lleva el nombre de un primo hermano de mi abuelo, el General Fierro, que fue jefe de la Defensa Nacional alla por los años 20 del siglo pasado.

Bautismos 1881-1886 - Rosales - Santa Cruz on FHL online site.

You can find Jose Alverto Leon Solis' christening record on page 58 #730, date of christening is 4 June 1884. Has his parents as Delores Solis and Francisca Fernandes. Grandparents names a little difficult to read. "Jose Solis and Josefa Uranga" and Juan Ferandes and Josefa Solis.

I am trying to trace my family tree and have run into a brick wall tracing my mothers; fathers heritage. His name was Alberto Leon Solis and was born 11 Apr 1884 in Santa Cruz de Rosales, Chihuahua, Mexico.

According to the sketchy information I have, his fathers name (supposedly)was Dolores Solis and his mother's name was Francisca Fernandez (nicknamed "Panchita"). They had two other children; girls, named: Theresa and Concepcion.

I remember being told as a child that Dolores and Francisca migrated from Spain to Mexico; but I don't have any hard facts to back this up. According to a 1900 US Census, Francisca's birth place is listed as Mexico and her birth date is given as 1860.

I would appreciate any and all information I can get about this side of the family. Unfortunately everyone with any good knowledge has passed away.

My wife's paternal line includes some Comadurans, starting with Jose Antonio Comaduran (m. Maria Rovira Zirujano) whose son Miguel Antonio married in Chihuahua but settled in Sonora. Miguel's son Buenaventura started a line in Chihuahua. Some of these folks ended up in El Paso in the early 1900s. Also, Martin Clave Almeida of Mexico City has lots of stuff on this line. His data would be the best.

I and my aunt would like to find other relatives with this surname in the USA. My grandma Maya Comaduran came to the USA in 1929 with ten kids, and one more on the way, who was the only one born here, who is the only one still alive. Most of us live in the Southern CA area but a few live in places like Chicago and Germany. If any other Comadurans of Chihuahua ancestry see this we would love to hear from you.

Yes, there are indexes and transcriptions for the 1777 Parral census and the 1779 San Bartolome census. I know this because I am the author of those works. Please note that these are considered secondary sources. As all good genealogists know, one must consult the primary source for final determination of information. The indices and transcriptions are merely there to assist you.

It turns out that Blasa was already in my database. All of the information on the pedigree came from the LDS database. Now that the marriage and baptism records can be read I was able to verify almost all of the parent child relationships. Around 1800 the Church started to put the grandparents names on the baptism records.

My wife's Great Grandfather Santiago Ponce is Blasa's fifth cousin.

If not, how did you come by this incredible pedigree?

Apparently, both sides of my Parral ancestry do converge upon Captain Juan Munoz de Olbera, as well as the Caballero family.

Do you have anything on the other side of the family? Jose Estevan Vidal Rodriguez Montoya thru his first union with my great grandmother, Maria Leonor Anizeta Contreras Robledo.

Jose Estevan Vidal Rodriguez Montoya and Blasa Tirsa Ponce de Leon Hernandez are buried here about four miles south of my home in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Blasa's daughter, Blasa also known as Licho, is buried in the same grave with her mother. They are buried next to Grandpa Jose Estevan.

Do you know anything about General Trinidad Rodriguez Montoya?

My mother told me he was her grand uncle. The uncle of her late father.

But I haven't been able to document anything about him. I went to the Pancho Villa Museum in Parral housed in the childhood home of my maternal grandmother, Maria de las Nieves Porras Vasquez. But all the materials they have are on another more famous general of a similar name, General Trinidad Rodriguez Quintanilla.

I believe my General was born in Huejotitan, perhaps in the early, to mid 1870s.

Younger, probably youngest brother of my great grandfather, Jose Estevan Vidal Rodriguez Montoya.

Where did you get the info that Juan Ponce de Leon was originally from Puebla? 'cause i've been tracking down his children's "partidas de bautismo" and i can only find that he was a "vecino" of the Valle de San Bartolome.
