I am trying to locate information on Tomasita
CARRANZA. Her parents were Jesus and Margarita RODRIGUEZ
CARRANZA. She had an uncle Benustriand CARRANZA who
was supposed to have been a president of Mexico. Tomasita
and her parents were supposed to have come from Cuatro
Cienigas, Coahuila in the early 1870s to the Eagle Pass
area of Texas. Tomasita married Emmit BOWLES, and Irish-
man. We know nothing about him. This is everything we
know about these families. This information comes from
The Kerr County Album from Kerr County Texas.

Any help on these families would be much appreciated.

I went to school with a John Bowles, he had a cousin by the name of Rudy Bowles who at one time was a County Judge in Eagle Pass. John's Father was a Sheriff in Eagle Pass for a long time. The Bowles still live in Eagle Pass. Try locating either Rudy or John for more information. The president of Mexico was Venustiano Carranza and served in the early 1900's shortly after the revolutionary war. Hope this helps.

Carranza also served as governor of Coahuila. He served
as president of Mexico in the late teens. He was a foe
of Pancho Villa and had Emiliano Zapata killed.

I have friend Lucio Garza Rodriguez also reasearching
Carranzas from Cuartro CIenegas. He has Carranzas. I will
be happy to give him this message to him. He does not have

The info you provided extended by research. I would gratefully like to know your sources. I an also researching the CARRANZA line. I am connected through General Jesus CARRANZA, who was father of Venustiano and Jesus CARRANZA. However, my cousins and I are realizing that he may have had several wives at the same time with children from all of them.

My line connects through a 2nd wife of General Jesus CARRANZA. General Jesus CARRANZA and Martina Fernanda Ortiz had a son Anastacio (my great grandfather) CARRANZA abt 1858. This is one year before Venustiano was born. We think Anastacio was born in Rancho Nuevo, Coahuila. Does Rancho Nuevo, Coahuila ring any bells? Does anyone know what major town or parish it is in?

Your fact #5 was a little confusing. Did Juan Jose CARRANZA have a brother Francisco or are you saying that Francisco had a father that had the same name?

In reference to your inquiry, Hara Pue, regarding your Carranza line, here is some information that you may find useful:

1. Venustiano Carranza (b 1859) and Jesus Carranza (b 1866) in Cuatro Cienegas, Coahuila, were children of Jesus Carranza and Maria de Jesus de la Garza.

2. Jesus Carranza (father, b 18 Jun 1813) was the son of Jose Rafael Carranza and Maria Ignacia Neira.

3. Jose Rafael (b 3 Nov 1789) was the son of Juan Jose Carranza and Maria Dolores de Cardenas.

4. Juan Jose Carranza (b 26 apr 1761) was the son of Francisco Carranza Maga~na and Francisca de Cardenas, who were married in Monclova, Coahuila on 11 Jan 1745.

5. Francisco was the son of Francisco Carranza Maga~na, who was born in Valladolid (now Morelia), Michoacan and Rosalia Carranza, who was born in Patzcuaro, Michoacan. Francisca de Cardenas was from Monclova and her parents were Pablo de Cardenas and Isabel Tijerina.

6. Don Venustiano Carranza became President of Mexico on 1 May 1917 and was assasinated in the town of Tlaxcalantongo in the mountains near Puebla on 21 May 1920.

7. I have a Carranza line also, and they are from San Buenaventura and Monclova, both in Coahuila. They may be related to the Cuatro Cienegas Carranzas possibly back in the State of Michoacan in the early 1700s, but I have not been able to find the connection.

6. I do not know the name of the wife of Jesus Carranza (the son). It may be your Margarita Rodriguez. If so they would be the parents of your Tomasita

My Grandfather Jose Lucio De La Cerda, was born in 1896, Boquillas del Carmen, Coah. His siblings were at least Nicolas, Matias, Acension, and Maria. His father was Jesus De La Cerda and his mother was Gentrudis Garcia. I have no information on Jesus or Gentrudis or his siblings. What I've learned so far is that Boquillas del Carmen was a minning town/village established about 1896.
Do you have any info on any of the above or on the De La Cerda surname.

My name is Dolores Rodriguez De La Cerda. I too am trying to find info on my mother's maiden names "De La Cerda" and "Siller". I noticed that you are looking for info on the De La Cerda surname. My ggrandfather's name was Pablo De La Cerda Tijerina who was married to Irene Herrera De Anda, he was from Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Piedras Negras is in the north of Mexico and a border town to Eagle Pass, TX. My grandfather's name was Alonso De La Cerda Herrera (1901-1983) who married Guadalupe Siller Macias (1911-1984), from Nueva Rosita, Coahuila. Some of my grandfather's siblings were Pablo, Alfonso, Napoleon, Leopoldo, Irene, Blanca. Most of them moved to Monterrey, N.L. I know there's more of them, but unfortunately I don't have their names yet. My mother's name is Aurora De La Cerda Siller, and her siblings are Gudelia, Luis, Jose, Pablo, Guadalupe, Alonso, and Ricardo.

Let me know if any of this info helps! It's very hard finding out info about the De La Cerda's!
