Jose Antonio Rodriguez Caro 1722-1788 Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua

Is anyone else researching Salvador Rodriguez who was born about 1700 in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua?

I've found a possible birthdate for him of December 26, 1699 just across the border in Durango, Mexico.

My Salvador Rodriguez's confirmed son is Jose Antonio Rodriguez born in Hidalgo del Parral in 1722.

This Salvador Rodriguez from Durango's father is also named Antonio, leading me to believe this is the right hombre, since fathers often name their sons after their own fathers.

I have a LOT more information on this line to share with fellow researchers.

Actually, it is Velardeña (pronounced vĕlärdeynă). It is a small town that belongs to the municipality of Cuencame, Durango. You can look it up on the internet and get information very easily. Good luck.

My grandparents from my dad's side were Maria Fragoso Corral and Ezequiel Vasquez Gonzalez, my grandparents from my mom's side were Cruz Lopez Cazares and Refugio Martinez Garcia. Originally from Presidios. I hear my older relatives talk alot about Tepehuanes. My dad knew a Hipolita Monarrez. We also know a David Monarrez (in his 60's) whose parents were from Presidios.

My father Roberto Vasquez Fragoso was first cousins with Valente Monarrez Vasquez. Just to confirm Valente's parents were Martina and Alberto.

Hi Frank. My family also has the name Fragoso in it and originated from a town close to Tepehuanes called Carreras and Presidios. In fact, I still have family there. I am working on a family tree and just curious to your family history. We might be related. What are you parents and grandparents names?

My Family also originated in Tepehuanes and Presidio areas in Durango. Their last name was Fragoso. They immigrated to Santa Barbara, Calif in the early 1900's. The name changed to Fragosa.

So my Dad passed away 2 years ago and i'm trying to get in touch with his side of the family. They are from Tepehuanes and Santiago Papasquiaro area.

My Dad's name is Juventino Lopez Martel. My grandparents were Emeterio Lopez Ayala and Winfrida Martel Monarrez. My grandfather's parents were Marcos Lopez and Rosa Ayala. My grandmother's parents were Margarito Martel and Alcaria Monarrez.

Hey Mickey ... My grandfather's name was Raymundo Alarcon Diaz. He and my grandmother are both from Presidios, Durango. My Grandmother's name is Socorro Martinez Carreno.

My family left Presidios for Mexicali. From there we settled in the Bay Area of California.

Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply. All I have is only one name. Cipriano or Zipriano Castillo, he was married to my to my uncle half sister. Matilde Castillo.
I have not research the Castillo's. I just amy trying to find where he met or married Matilde Castillo.
Thanks, if you have this Castillo in your genealogy. Cipriano was born abt. 1880 or 1890 in around Mapime.

Armando Rodriguez is my brother and he initiated this back in 2004. Well my mothers maiden name is Mancinas. She was born in the city of Durango and so was her father her father and his family grew up there. Now some live in Durango and some live in Nuevo Ideal Durango. Hope that was helpful although late.

Your wrong. There are many Fragoso's in this area. I'm included. I am from a town close to Tepehuenes which is the municipality next to Santiago. What is true, is that you really don't find many in other parts of Mexico probably to the fact that a particular Fragoso family started in Durango. They are from Spanish decent. the fragoso family was in fact conquistadors from europe.
my ancestors setled in durango mx. near the town of santiago
papasquiaro, I dont know a whole lot because grandpa died.
but the litle the my father and aunts tell me is that there
werent many relatives in the area, prety little fragosos around, also there is a fragoso arms seal, so we must have beeing someone back in europe.

Belardinia in Durango, Mexico

Web show my great grandparents Luisa Sifuentes and Frank Gabriel Kaerwer were married in or at Belardinia, Durango, Mexico in 1905. There are no references to this name on the web...I don't know if this is the name of a rancho, church, street, province, county, etc.

Any one heard of place calle Belardinia or something similar in or around Durango, Mexico?

Also looking for Luisa's parents siblings. Mother Juana Sifuentes, father Marcos Garcia, both probably born in Durango in the 1860s.

Mi madre nacio en tepehuanes durango, mi abuelo se llamo valente monarrez vazquez. la familia monarrez proviene de españa y llega a presidios en los años de 1780 aproximadamente, asentandose en ese lugar. llegaron junto con la famila corral entre otras. saludos.

Thank you so much for answering! I realize that you must have very many queries about the wonderful genealogical collection that you have compiled, so thank you for your time.
Here's all the information I have:
Luz Maria Nevarez Escobedo's father was Joachin Nevarez Gutierrez and her father's mother was Eulalia Gutierrez (don't know her second surname. He was a musician, played the violin, the violoncello, the accordeon and taught music. His family had a rancho ganadero called "La casa grande" near Santiago Papasquiaro. Luz Maria's mother was Maria Trinidad Escobedo Espinosa (she died in 1940). Luz Maria says that her mother was from one of the best families in Santiago and married below her standing.
This is all I know but I will contact my mother-in-law and ask her for any last scrap of information.

My Grandfather, Jose Gabriel Holguin, came from Mapimi, Mexico. His mother was Agapita Holguin, father unknown. Agapita's parents were Gabriel Olguin and Maria Gregoria Vargas. Gabriel Olguin's parents were Juan Olguin and Anselma Ruiz. Gregoria's parents were Pablo Vargas and Maria Paulina Gamboa. Is anyone related out there or can tell me were I can look for information?

Three last names is unusual. What were the names and surnames of Luz Maria's parents? Nevarez and Gutierrez have been in Santiago for centuries. Escobedo is not a Santiago surname, so this family likely settled in Santiago in the last hundred years.

My husband's name is Carlos Pascual Nevarez. I'm researching his maternal line and I found your posts. I wonder if you could help me because I think he is connected to your family tree. His mother is Luz Maria Nevarez Escobedo Gutierrez. She was born in Santiago Papasquiaro around 1940. She was orphaned at 3 and was brought up by an aunt in Mexiico City. She doesn't know much about her parents, only that they were musicians and played the violin. Thank you!
