Hello, Looking for Mosqueda's and Castro's who came from Penjamo Gto. my grand parents were Atanacio Mosqueda and Maria Castro, they migrated to Kansas then to Calif. My Great Grand parents names were Romaldo Mosqueda and Refrigo Reyes. Looking for a Chruch in Penjamo that they would have been baptized in. Don't know Maria Castro's parents names. Atanacio had a bro. Tomas died in cal. Maria had two sisters that I know of a Jesus and Juana.

I probably won't be any help, but my grandfather was born in Penjamo, GTO in 1901. His name is Francisco Reyes and his sister's name was Ernestina Reyes. I don't know anything about my great grandparents other than my great grandmother died when my grandfather was 6 months old. He was raised by another family but his father stayed in Mexico. If I can find out my great grandfather's Reyes first name I will respond within a week. My grandmother was born in Leon GTO and her last name was Lubiano her first name was Leonor. I know that is not much help but I wanted to find history on my Great Grandfather and I don't know how many Reyes families in Penjamo were related back then. I can also find the name of the lady who raised my grandfather when my great grandmother died.

Thanks so much for replying, buy the way my name is Rhonda. Like you I didn't know much about my Grandparents on my Dads side of the family. My Dads mother died when he was only a year and his father when he was 11. My Dads grand mothers maiden name was Reyes. Now if they were born in Gto. it will make it a little easier for me, because I plan on making a trip down there, and in the church is where your going to find the names of there parents and so forth. I'm sure there are family members who still live in the town, thats just the way it is in Mexico, its just finding them. Also here in the States.

In the Esacion de penjamo is where many of the Mosqueda's are. That is where my husband is from. I go at least once a year and the family of Mosqueda's there is very large. Estacion is about 5-7 miles from Penjamo. if you are interested in any info please let me know? There are also many mosqueda's on the ranches outside of Estacion. We are located in Portland, Oregon

Hey, thank you for replying, My name is Rhonda. I'm trying to fine relatives of my Grandma & Grandpa. On there boarder crossings it list they were born in Penjamo, and on my Grandpa death cert. it says Penjamo. They migrated to Usa in the 1900, were in Hutchingson Kansas for a few years, then Calif. They had 8 kids and only my Aunt and Dad survived to old age. They knew only there parents names, very vague stuff. My Grandma was a Castro and have no names for her parents my Grandpa's parents were Romaldo Mosqueda and Refugio Reyes. I feel the only way I can find out and more info is to go there and see what info I can get from the Church, because they would have marriage baptism and death info. But for me right now its not possible to travel there. All my Dad's siblings died of TB.
Also I know my Grandpa had a brother Thomas he died in Los Angeles in 1935 He also has a son Thomas who had a club foot. Hey, if any of this has any interest email me back, and thanks
