Is there any Mitre's out there, some place? The name is so rare, you would think that it would be easy to locate but it isn't.
The Mitre that I'm looking for is my grandfather Jesus Alejandro Mitre - his mother was Manuela Mitre, she was married to Manuel Villasana and had Julian Villasana and Simon Villasana. They were born in Zacatecas, Mexico than came to Chihuahua Chih, from there they came to El Paso in 1910 during the revolution war. Jesus Mitre had a sister by the name of Maria Mitre she baptized my mother in 1905 in Chih, Chih.
Pleeeese, if anyone knows anything about this family email me at mgervassi@earthlink.net

I am Mitre. I too come from Mexico. My mom's family is from Tepic, Mexico. I was born in California along with several cousins. I also lived in Costa Rica and found that there is a lot of Mitre's in Panama. I also read that there is a Mitre colony in Argentina and Cuba.

Unfortunately I don't know about your inmediate family but heck I have too many cousins in Tepic.

Write to me.

Surnames: Villasana
Hello! You posted back in 2002 but I wonder if you know the names of Simon Villasana's children? My great grandfather's name was Simon Villasana. My father's name is Edward Villasana and his father (Simon's son) was Robert Villasana who is from El Paso, Texas but moved to Carson, California. Thank you for any information! Crystal Villasana
