Looking for my relatives CASTRO

Mis Grandpa's: Manuel Higuera y Rosa Amelia Portela
My mom: Alicia Higuera

I have been looking for my Higuera ancestors also. The last names we have are my Great-Grandfather Elisarion Higuera, who married Gregoria Martinez. They came to the Yuma, Arizona valley in the 1850s from sonora. I have no further information about their antecedents or exactly where in Sonora they came from. Do you have any info regarding them?

This next weekend I will go to Mexico and I can make some questions concerning to this and I will take this names that you gave me. You know where were they from (Town or city, were they yaquis?)

My granfathers name was Juan Higuera from Yuma AR. he was one of the sons of your grandparents. The Yuma phone book is full of Higueras all related. I have been to a couple of reunions of the Higuera family there. The last had a Yuma paper feature on the grandparents. I still have a copy be happy to send to you.

Your grandfather Juan was my grandmother Cruz Higuera's brother and was quite a character as I remember her talking about him. The ladies loved him and Grandma said he was a very handsome man. The problem is that beyond my great grandparents we can find no history. I think they came from Sonora, but cannot find out. My maternal great grandmother's maiden name was Martinez and you know how many there are in the world???? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. My grand father Ignacio Higuera and had brother who was named Juan 1880-1913, their Father was named Elesario. Juan was married to Incencia and was a lawman as a constable and a Yuma county deputy sheriff. He was my dad uncle. My father name wasYgnacio Higuera 1909-1993. John Higuera afchief@sti.net

Hi Jorge...I am a Higuera and I too am related to the Higuera's from Yuma AZ...My great grandfather was Elisario Higuera and my grandfather was Francisco Higuera,,My dad is Edward Higuera who married into the Evaro family in Yuma..I would love to exchange info with you if you want...I will wait to hear from you..
