Estoy en busca de información de una familia Betancourt oriunda de Cuba, pero establecida en el Yucatán, quisas Mérida, en al fines del siglo XIX.

Tengo los nombres de un Julián Betancourt Varona y de Clodomiro Betancourt. Julián casó en Mérida después del año 1902, pero no se con quien.

I recall searching for my own family in records copied by the mormon church. I came across many Betancourts in the Progresso records. Progresso is just outside of Merida. You might try searching the library catalogue on for microfilms you could rent cheaply and view at a family history library. I'm certain you could find records of their marriages. Elisa

Hi, I know that this is extremely late but I came across it and could not pass it up. From 1979-1981 I knew a Martha Betancourt (17-19 y/o)while living in Merida. We became good friends. I recall that her father was born in Cuba.
