DAVION, Joseph or Jose

My gr. grandfather claimed to have been born in the Yucatan Penisula, Mexico.
His name was either Jose or Joseph DAVION. He was born March 19, 1884. His fathers' name was either Jose or Joseph as well.
Can anyone assist me with this, please?

I`m Sonja from Germany. Your Grandfather Henry Kloss was the first husband of my Grandma Wilhelmine (Mimi) Kloss.

He lived in Nordenham (Germany) and he had one Son named Heinz. My Mum saw your Grandfather one time in 1947/1948. It will be nice if you can get in contact with me.

Hi, I know that this is extremely late but I came across it and could not pass it up. From 1979-1981 I knew a Martha Betancourt (17-19 y/o)while living in Merida. We became good friends. I recall that her father was born in Cuba.

Wanted: Any information having to do with his parents.
Information: He was born about 7 Apr 1891 in Yucatan, possibly Merida. He served in Congress and was killed on 1 Jul 1934. My Father says his family comes from Campeche, Campeche??? He lived in Motul de Felipe Carillo Puerto, Yucatan.

Este tema agarró mi curiosidad ya que el nombre de mi padre es Ramón y el apellido de mis abuelos eran Duran y Caballero. No conozco mucho de la niñez de mi padre solamente que quedo huérfano a muy temprana edad y que nació en Yucatán Mérida. ¿Como cuantos anos calcula que pueda tener Ramón? Cetina can be also spelled Zetina can possibly originate from Aragon Spain. the Knights holding the Cetina surname took part in the siege of Cuenca; King Alfonso VIII de Castilla honored the knights with many heraldries in the region establishing this region a possible origin for many of the Cetinas. Other important regions would be in Alcala de Henares, Madrid and Seville (where the famous warrior-poet Gutierre de Cetina was from.

The family crest is a gold band on a blue background. Five gold stars adorn the top right and on the bottom left there is a golden flor de lis.

Hey, I been trying to find more of my grandfathers Spanish ancestry.

My grandfather was born in Merida Yucatan as Juan Enriquez Barrera and married my grandmother Obdulia Lezama who was born in Tabasco Mex. but moved to Merida in her youth.

I was told we have Spanish Family/ancestors in Spain and would like to find out more.

All I have is that my Great Grandfather was Juan Enriquez Rosado and was born in Lerida,Spain. He was a doctor and
moved to Merida Yucatan in the early 1900's . He married my great grand mother which last name was Barrera.

If anyone has any info let me know thanks.

I met your grandparents in Merida several years ago. We were staying at the same hotel and had breakfast together.

Who is your mother? And I'm looking for Carlota del Valle Regil who married Miguel Peón y Cantón. Are they anywhere in your family? Your grandparents and I discussed this and we were told by a chronista that my carlota may be part of your family.

George F. Gaumer married my great aunt, Virdilla McGee. I don't have information on their son, George J. Gaumer, but I have a little on their other son, John Daniel, and daughter, Olive Gaumer. John Daniel (b. 19 May 1896 in Yucatan, Mexico) was an engineering student in 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisc. and lived in Chicago through at least 1930. His sister, Olive, married a Smith and had two children, Obie A. (son) and Olive J. Obie died in 2003 in Austin, Texas and is buried in Ft. Sam Houston Nat'l Cemetery, San Antonio, Tx. I don't know about Olive J. Smith. Olive Gaumer Smith died in 1974, Paradise Valley, Maricopa Co., Ariz. I'd like to locate an obituary of hers. I have a copy of a very lengthy letter that Virdilla McGee Gaumer wrote to her family in Kansas shortly before her death in 1913. She was reminiscing about her times growing up in Lawrence, Kansas in the mid-late 1800's. She also tells of some adventures and life in Mexico after she married George F. Gaumer. My grandmother, who was a first cousin to Virdilla, tells of the children (George, John & Olive) coming to visit in KC MO and how oddly they spoke and sounded. I'm trying to find information on my grandfather's family from Merida. His name was Jorge Antonio Erosa Garcia. He passes in 1996. He had a sister, I know that some of his sister's kids' names were: Sadie and Frank. Some of them were teachers I believe.

My grandfather moved away from Merida when he was very young and his mother re-married.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

HI! I´m beatriz from vienna/austria. I´ve been brosing around a bit and somehow got this website, and tripped over my grandparents name. Beatriz de regil and ben muse were my grandparents. they used to live in manassas,va., but moved to reston, va for the last years of their life. my grandmother was born in merida.how interesting you should know my grandparents personally! how come? one their daughters married to austria, which is where i was born!

My maiden name is Kloss. My grandfather was born in Scranton, PA (a twin) and I was raised in Allentown, PA. To my knowledge, we are all pretty much in this general area. Though I do have a brother undergoing the Katrina/Rita ordeal in LA.

Please let me know how you arrived in the Yucatan.

In addition to your Damiana Gonzalez the familysearch.org website has the marriage record of your Lorenza Gongora to Thomas Mansanero on Oct. 31, 1835 in Tekit. And probably lots more. With the church name you can find more records of all the sibling births etc. Let me know if you have trouble finding the names in there.

I would like to find a copy of the book you mention. I am trying to trace my families roots in Merida.

My grandmother was Mercedes Duarte. She emigrated from Merida to NYC in the 1920s.

Her mother was Maria Peon de Duarte, and I believe her maiden name was Aznar. (Her husband was Rafael Duarte, my great-grandfather.)

I believe my great grandmother was Mercedes Aznar and she was married to Joaquin Peon.

If you have any information from your book on any of these individuals, I would appreiciate it if you could send it along.
