Hi, until 20 years ago I lived in Villanueva, I'm a very good friend of Irene's aunts Romelia, Eloisa and Elda, there are other two families and both are in Santa Anita Street. I'm not quite sure if that may help you but one is related to Efren Muro (about 40 years old) and the other many of their members are located here in USA. From them one of the girls married to a guy named Raul Avila and they live in Angeles or Orange Counties. Who knows, this may be the answer. Being from Zacatecas allowed me to tell you a bit of our state. It's people is a very simple living life, they are not indians although our ancestors were. Our people specially if they come from a ranch (very small community)
are dedicated to the fields and the catter men and women at the same level. Zacatecans are well known in the coutry for the warmed heart and welcoming people. In the las years, our state has been suffered of a high rate o violent crimes (including kidnapking, drog carteles and violent gangs). I moved to the States about 20 years ago, and only hope that I'll see my town Villanueva as peaceful and enjoyable as a saw it the last time I was there.

I certainly know your father's family, even your father. Although I moved from Villanueva more that 20 years ago I know very well most of the family. Life is full of surprises and just let me tell you that Irene is your first cousin. Her father, Arnulfo and your father are brothers. You don't mention anything about your mom. Is she from villanueva as well. Who knows I may know her too.

I am looking for information about my grandmother Josefina Muro Berumen. I am making the comment to this post because I had already found reference to the Berumen last name from Zacatecas, and now I found some postings about the Muro last name as well. I believe her parents came from Zacatecas and moved to California prior to 1925. My grandmother was born around 1925 in Dinuba, California. Her mother died in early 1930's and the father moved back to Mexico with the children. He re-married and lived in the Torreon / Gomez Palacio region. Any posibble leads or connections you can offer will be appreciated.

I was born in Villanueva Zacatecas. My mom's last name is Muro. She still lives there along with some sisters.

She mentioned the fact that some of her relatives moved to the US when she was young.

I am a Muro, My father Juan was born in Villanueva along with his sisters and two brothers. I have three aunts who currently reside in Villanueva, (Santa Anita) while everyone else is in the U.S. including the one who married Raul Avila. My grandfathers name was Raphael Muro and my grandmother was Maria Cardona Muro. I think I saw a thread on here about an Antonio Muro... I think he is my grandma's brother. Hope this helps.
