Surnames: Trulove, Parsons or Parson, Smith,
Joseph H and Robert Alexander are brothers. Does anyone have information on their mother and father or grandparents. Their father was George Trulove and mother was Caty Painter. I believe George's father was James????

First Generation

1. James Trulove was born in 1780 in North Carolina.

James Trulove and Catherine Painter were married. Catherine Painter was born in 1785 in North Carolina. James Trulove and Catherine Painter had the following children:

+2 i. Sarah Elvira Trulove, born in 1813, Rutherford County, North Carolina; married Andrew Mitchell Sorrells, on 18 Jan 1832, Haywood County, North Carolina; died between 1850 and 1856.
+3 ii. George Trulove, born in 1815, Haywood County, North Carolina; married Frances "Fannie" Sorrells, on 15 Feb 1844, Haywood County, North Carolina; married Sarah Sorrells, about 1848; died after 1880.



Second Generation

2. Sarah Elvira Trulove (James-1) was born in 1813 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. She died between 1850 and 1856.

Sarah Elvira Trulove and Andrew Mitchell Sorrells were married on 18 Jan 1832 in Haywood County, North Carolina. Andrew Mitchell Sorrells1 (son of Joseph Sorrells and Mildred) was born in 1809 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died on 29 Oct 1882 in Burnet County, Texas. Sarah Elvira Trulove and Andrew Mitchell Sorrells had the following children:

+4 i. Lewis Sorrells, born on 1 Jan 1840, Burke County, North Carolina; married Sarah Elizabeth Miller, on 6 Jul 1865; died on 25 Apr 1925, Macon County, North Carolina.

3. George Trulove4-7 (James-1) was born in 1815 in Haywood County, North Carolina. He died after 1880. At the time of the 1880 census of Towns County GA, George Trulove was enumerated in the Brasstown District and was listed as divorced.

George Trulove and Frances "Fannie" Sorrells were married on 15 Feb 1844 in Haywood County, North Carolina. No information is available for Frances "Fannie" Sorrells (daughter of Joseph Sorrells and Mildred) yet. George Trulove and Frances "Fannie" Sorrells had the following children:

+5 i. Robert Alexander Trulove Sr., born in 1845, Haywood County, North Carolina; married Mabel Isabelle "Belle" Swanson, on 24 Dec 1862, Towns County, Georgia; died in May 1863, Chancellorsville, Virginia.
+6 ii. Joseph H. Trulove, born on 18 Jul 1846, Haywood County, North Carolina; married Amanda P. Brittain, on 17 Feb 1867, Towns County, Georgia; married Mary Lou Morgan, on 22 Dec 1885, Towns County, Georgia; died on 18 Sep 1921, Towns County, Georgia.

George Trulove and Sarah Sorrells were married about 1848. Sarah Sorrells6-9 (daughter of Joseph Sorrells and Mildred) was born in 1806 in Burke County, North Carolina. She died after 1880. At the time of the 1870 Towns County GA census, Sarah Trulove, 64, was living in the household of Uriah and Mary A. Thomas. In 1880 she was still living with them but they had moved to Fannin County GA. George Trulove and Sarah Sorrells had the following children:

+7 i. George Washington Trulove, born in 1852, North Carolina; married Mary A..



Third Generation

4. Lewis Sorrells5 (Sarah Elvira Trulove-2, James-1) was born on 1 Jan 1840 in Burke County, North Carolina. He died on 25 Apr 1925 in Macon County, North Carolina. He was buried in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, Macon County, NC.

Lewis Sorrells and Sarah Elizabeth Miller were married on 6 Jul 1865. Sarah Elizabeth Miller (daughter of Henry Miller and Elizabeth) was born on 17 Sep 1843. She died on 29 May 1897. She was buried in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, Macon County, NC. Lewis Sorrells and Sarah Elizabeth Miller had the following children:

+8 i. Mary L. Sorrells, born in 1868; married Amos Monroe Presley, on 8 Dec 1892, Towns County, Georgia; married James Guffey.
+9 ii. Robert Sorrells, born in 1871, North Carolina; married Mary E. Jones; died on 7 Jul 1948.
+10 iii. Andrew Mitchell Sorrells, born on 22 Jun 1873, Macon County, North Carolina; married Carrie Loretta Presley, on 1 Jan 1893, Towns County, Georgia; died on 28 Oct 1944, Macon County, North Carolina.
11 iv. Sally Sorrells was born in 1877 in Towns County, Georgia.
12 v. Jane Sorrells was born in 1879 in Towns County, Georgia.

5. Robert Alexander Trulove Sr. (George-2, James-1) was born in 1845 in Haywood County, North Carolina. He died in May 1863 in Chancellorsville, Virginia. He was also known as Robert Trulove.

Robert Alexander Trulove Sr. and Mabel Isabelle "Belle" Swanson were married on 24 Dec 1862 in Towns County, Georgia. Mabel Isabelle "Belle" Swanson (daughter of Richard Swanson and Isabella Sherrill) was born on 4 Apr 1844 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. She died on 3 Dec 1899 in Towns County, Georgia. She was buried in Old Union Cemetery, Young Harris, Georgia. Robert Alexander Trulove Sr. and Mabel Isabelle "Belle" Swanson had the following children:

+13 i. Robert Alexander Trulove Jr., born in 1863; married Callie Norris, on 23 Sep 1884, Towns County, Georgia.

6. Joseph H. Trulove4,8,10-12 (George-2, James-1) was born on 18 Jul 1846 in Haywood County, North Carolina. He died on 18 Sep 1921 in Towns County, Georgia. He was buried in Old Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery, Towns County, GA.

Joseph H. Trulove and Amanda P. Brittain were married on 17 Feb 1867 in Towns County, Georgia. Amanda P. Brittain (daughter of Horatio Nelson Brittain and Elizabeth Morrow) was born on 23 Nov 1841 in Haywood County, North Carolina. She died on 12 Oct 1885 in Towns County, Georgia. She was buried in Old Union Cemetery, Young Harris, Georgia. Joseph H. Trulove and Amanda P. Brittain had the following children:

+18 v. Joseph Grayson Trulove, born in 1877, Clay County, North Carolina; married Bertha L. Nichols.
+19 vi. Henry R. Trulove, born in 1879, Clay County, North Carolina; married Martha Minnie Ledford; died in 1962.
20 vii. Docky A. Trulove was born on 2 Mar 1882 in Towns County, Georgia. He died on 3 Mar 1892 in Towns County, Georgia.
21 viii. Lucinda C. Trulove was born in Feb 1883 in Towns County, Georgia.

Joseph H. Trulove and Mary Lou Morgan were married on 22 Dec 1885 in Towns County, Georgia. Mary Lou Morgan was born on 11 Mar 1846. She died on 27 Aug 1908. She was buried in Old Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery, Towns County, GA.

7. George Washington Trulove5,8 (George-2, James-1) was born in 1852 in North Carolina. At the time of the 1870 census of Towns County GA, George W. Trulove was living in the household of his brother Joseph H. Trulove.

George Washington Trulove and Mary A. were married. Mary A. was born in 1851 in Georgia. George Washington Trulove and Mary A. had the following children:

22 i. William J. Trulove was born in 1878 in Towns County, Georgia.
