Haylock Birth Record

Surnames: HAYLOCK
My great grandfather, George W. Haylock was born in Illinois in 1842; however, I do now know where. Can anyone give me guidance on discovering his birthplace? His parents were William and Hannah Haylock. Thanks.

Surnames: HAYCOCK
There is only one William Haycock in the 1840 Census. He is listed in Pike Co., Il. There is also only one listed in the 1850 census in Jackson Co., Ia. George age 9 b.Il is in the 1850.

Thanks, Peg. I'm sure these are my ancestors. The 1840 Census never even occurred to me. Based on births of other children in Canada and Missouri, we know they were only in Illinois a couple of years. I'm glad to have this county info to work with.
