Opal
Parnell age 74 of Edmonton, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Hospice of
Dayton in
Dayton,
Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Jim David and Parthenia Dean
Gibson. Opal was retired from
Metcalfe County Nursing Home in Edmonton and attended the Bethleham Tabernacle in
Metcalfe County and the
Lighthouse Christian Fellowship church in Fairborne,
Ohio. Opal was married to
Leamon Parnell and he preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by three sons, Donald
Parnell of Fairborne, Ohio; Lonnie
Parnell of
Bronson, Fla. and Michael
Parnell of
Lafayette, Ind. Seventeen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at
Butler Funeral Home with burial in the
Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation took place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Greg
Parnell, and a daughter, Lynda
