MRS. OLIVE CORDELIA CORNELL, who was in her 91st year of life, born October 14, 1849 the daughter of Electa BURGESS and James Rawley McKEE of Caneadea, N.Y., died at the home of her son J. R. MATTESON of Crittenden District, Thursday, Sept. 12, 1940. Her last illness followed a shock suffered last February while she was staying with a daughter Mrs. Lloyd VANSCHAICK at Elkland, Pa.

About the year 1865 she was united in marriage with David C. MATTESON who died in 1906; her second marriage was to Ezra CORNELL who died about six years ago.

To the first union eleven children were born, of whom ten survive: Charles, J. R., and Mrs. Charles all of this village, Vivan of Beach Hill, Gilbert of W. Bingham, Van of Hornell, Mrs. Lloyd VANSCHAICK of Elkland, Albert of Corry, Pa., and Mrs. Will MUCKEY of Allegany, N.Y.

A brother W. G. WILSON of Cleveland, O. and a sister-in-law of E. Aurora, N.Y., besides 30 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren survive.

The funeral was held Sunday, Sept. 15, 1940 from the home of the son J. R. MATTESON in Crittenden District, with relatives present from Buffalo, Elmira, Jamestown, Mayville, Wellsville, Belmont, Cuba, Olean, Coudersport, Dundee, Elkland, Osceola, Sunbury and other towns.

There was a profusion of flowers testimony to the hose of friends Mrs. Cornell had.

Burial was in Rural Cemetery.

Rev. Harold E. BLISH of the Methodist Church officiated at the farewell which was directed by Fred WILDMAN.

We desire to express our sincere appreciation to all our friends and neighbors for all kindnesses extended to us during the illness and after the death of our mother Mrs. Olive C. CORNELL. Especially would we thank those who sent flowers and cars for the funeral and Rev. H. E. BLISH for his ministrations.
