I am seeking the obituary of Sarah (THARP)REED, mother of Samuel Burrage REED, architect of New York City. She was born ~1800 in Meriden (or Wallingford,) New Haven County, Connecticut, married Samuel Francis REED 1833, and had only one son, Samuel B. REED. She moved from Connecticut in her old age, "Sept 23 1869, I came to my son's to live in West Flushing Sarah REED" and lived with him until her death, according to family recollection.
Samuel was living with his wife and children in Newtown, Queens, in the US Federal Census of 1870 -occupation "builder" - so perhaps his mother had already died by that time, 31 Aug 1870. I would appreciate any information regarding her death, burial, obituary, etc.
