Land Record look up

Would someone be willing to look up some land records for me? I'm willing to pay, if it's not too expensive. My 2x g-gf, Clark Folts, had a land homestead patent in LaGrande, Umatilla, OR in 1884.

The record is here...
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/details/patent/default.aspx?ac...

I'm hoping to find out what happened to this land.. I know that by 1888 Clark had moved to Arkansas. I am hoping to find some documents that proved he did, indeed, live there, homestead that land, and what happened to it.

hello
ITS GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. yOUR LAST POSTING RAISES ADDIONAL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. YOU MENTIONED ARZANN WAS 17 WHEN SHE HAD YOU. THIS WOULD PUT YOU BEING BORN AROUND 1952 WITH 5 OLDER BROTHERS OR SISTERS. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT, TRISH (LATRICIA) SAID ARZANN HAD HER FIRST CHILD AT THE AGE OF 13. ITS POSSIBLE THE STATE COULD OF TAKEN IT AWAY. I SHOW THE FOLLOWING CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG
48 FIR
49 DIXIE
50 NO CHILD
51 LILLIAN
51 CONNIE
52 CAROL
53 NO CHILD
54 KENNETH
55 DONALD
56 LATRICIA
57 MIKE
58 NO CHILD
59 HOWARD

I HAVE NO BIRTH YEARS FOR THE FOLLOWING PROBABLY BORN IN THE 60'S. MILTON, ELIZABETH, LANITA, OR KEITH.

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT JEFF OR BRENDA WAS THE FIRST BORN IN 48 WITH THE OTHER BORN IN 50? INTERESTING TO THINK ABOUT.

ALL I AM REALLY INTERESTED IN IS THE BITHDAYS (YEAR AND PLACE) OF THE CHILDREN AND ARZANN'S MARRIAGE DATE AND PLACE.

HOPEFULLY THIS WILL DO YOU SOME GOOD

TODD
Hi Todd,

I am glad to hear from you. Since my posting I have made contact with most of the siblings including Latricia. I have even gone and visited Lanita since she lives the closest. I talk to her on the phone quite often and also one of the brothers, Milton, also.

I would welcome any new info you can supply though. I did friend you on Facebook and we can message that way too. In fact that is the best way to get my attention.

I doubt I have any new info regarding the family.

The one thing I would be interested in if you know anything about it is Lanita mentioned there might be a brother older than me. Arzanne told me I was the oldest but Lanita says she remembers some type of communication to Arzanne from a guy who was about my age or a little older. I do know she was 17 when she had me.

Anyway I'll look forward to learning what you know.

Carol

Hello

I am Arzann's son-in-law through Latricia. We were married for many years. She mentioned tidbits of info that might be of interest.

I have addition children of Arzann. Most were listed on her OBITUARY, of which I have a copy.

Latricia keeps in touch with several of them including Mike, Howard, Milton, and has mentioned others.

I have pedigrees of the PIERSON and MEDLOCK's (arzann's maiden name) that go back many generations.

I would like to be kept up with what info is found.

I can be reached at bybeetodd@yahoo.com or on FACEBOOK.

My question is how did Arzann from Missouri meet with Gilman from Washington at such a young age, and where and when did they get married? If my facts are right - they must have gotten married when she was 12 or 13 when their child was born. That would have been about 1948. It is possible that the STATE took the child.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I have an old photo of my late Mother-In-Law's that is from Stanfield, Oregon. I am not sure of the facts, but she either went to Oregon to marry this person and decided not to or they did get married. She was married numerous times so not sure.

The photo is an 8X10" black and white. It was taken at the Pendleton Rodeo, the person riding the horse was John L. O'Niel, Stanfield Oregon..I am not sure if that is the correct spelling of his last name but that is what is on the back of the photo and he was riding a horse called Tar Baby...it was obviously published in the local paper because of what is written on the back side of it. There is an inscription on the front that says "Love John".

If anyone is related to this person I would love for you to have a photo of him. He was quite handsome and looked good on a horse. LOL

Hello. Yes. I am aware of what is on Lydia's gravestone. My confusion comes from not finding a death record for Wm S. Key in the Walla Walla death record images posted in family search.org. Also Irene Key Padgett in her book "Key Is My Name" places William's gravestone at the Weston Cemetery in Umatilla, Oregon. I can't explain these discrancies but know that Irene grew up in Oregon and probably saw the stone. What evidence is there that William died in Walla Walla besides the second hand info on Lydia's stone.

You are probably aware of this, but there is a Find a Grave memorial #20113813 for Lydia D.Jones KEY, who appears to have been William's wife. Her stone says that William was buried in Walla Walla, Washington rather than Oregon? Lydia is buried at Union Primative Baptist Cemetery in Surry County, North Carolina. Also, there is/was a "KEY" cemetery in Athena, Oregon --very close to Weston.

I sent the message below today to the person who seems to be responsible for the grave list for Weston Cemetery at another website.

I would be grateful for a second look at the information posted for the Weston Cemetery on the burial of William S. Key. I believe this is my ancestor William S. Key who died December 6, 1888 of pneumonia while visiting relative Hezekiah Key. The image I attach of a gravestone for William S. Key is from the book "Key is my Name" by Irene Key Padgett. She says William S. Key is buried in a Weston Cemetery.

The burial listing for this cemetery has Warren S. Key in the IOOF East Section F Row2 with dates b 11 Dec 1904; d 5 Jan 1920 s/o S.L. Key.

After Warren is the name William S. Key Old City Section J Row 13 with the same dates and data as Warren with dates b 11 Dec 1904; d 5 Jan 1920 s/o S.L. Key.

Since I have a suggestion that William S. Key is buried in the Weston Cemetery (see image attached), I wonder if the data for Warren was mistakenly copied/repeated for William.

I would be so grateful for a verification and correction - if I'm right.

I'm submitting a DAR application and need death and burial verification for William S. Key, my ancestor, in order to proceed.
Thank you so very, very much.

Sandy Carter-Duff
Denver, Colorado
My ancestor William S Key died in Weston, OR Dec 6, 1888 of pneumonia while on vacation from North Carolina visiting relatives including Hezekiah Key. This was published in "Key Is My Name" by Irene Key Padgett and she says he is buried in the Weston Cemetery. There is a picture of William's large granite gravestone on pg 94 of Irene's book. I attach a copy of the gravestone. I cannot find a listing of Wm's burial online for the Weston Cemetery nor on Findagrave. The stone appears too big to overlook. I also cannot find that death records were recorded in the county in 1888. I need death evidence i.e. certificate or cemetery record for my DAR application. Wm. was from Surry County, North Carolina. I'm greatful for any help.

Patrice, if that was to me, I was born in Pendleton, although I am very much "from" there, since we moved when I was 3 months old. However, there are 4 generations of my family in Olney (mostly Britains and Bashors), including my father. I also have family in the Athena cemetery--Scotts and Brysons--and some in the Kees/Blue Mountain cemetery in Weston (Gerkings). Also in LaGrande, the old Pioneer cemetery in Starkey (not much left of it), Lostine...

We've been in Oregon for a while.
