I wondered if you had ever been able to get any information on Julius Martin of New Kent Co.

I am desceded from Julia Ann Martin b. abt. 1812 in New Kent Co. and Julius Sr. and Julius Jr. are two of the likeliest fathers for her but because of the lack of information in New Kent Co. I may never be able to prove it. The only records available seem to be the tax and census records. Do you happen to know whether Julius Jr. made a second marriage? He seemed to from the 1820 & 1830 census. I did know that when Julius Sr. died he left 3 children: Juliet, Susan & Major to the guardianship of Julius Jr.

Julius Martin married Ursula Crump probably about 1768-9 in New Kent Co. They were the parents of Sarah Martin who married John Richardson also in New Kent.
Julius and Ursula may also be the parents of Goodrich Martin since Ursula had a brother Goodrich Crump who lived in Powhatan Co.
Will share any info I have. I'm looking for anything about the descendants of Julius and Ursula.

I'm assuming we're talking about Julius, Sr. so I'll enclose the information I have on him. It is, of course, geared to finding my Julia's father. If you want to exchange information on these families, drop me a line at: Paulette.Smith@worldnet.att.net

b. 1732 d. Aug 25, 1822

2. A search on Julius Martin at LDS on Ancestors shows a Julius Martin spouse is Emma Spaeth.

4. Salley Martin b. Aug. 17, 1770 was listed as daughter of Julious and Usley Martin

5. Enq.8/30/1822: Julious Martin of New Kent, Aug 25th in 90th year. All who knew him loved him. Left a large family. This epitaph was the same is that on Reuben H. Burch's tombstone.
