i am looking for info on joshua blanton born in prince edward co. can anyone help

I have a Joshua Blanton b.1760 in Prince Edward County VA d. 1850 in Loris, Horry County SC married to Mary Alderman March 24, 1787 in Duplin County NC BUT how reliable the dates are I'm not sure. Also found that Joshua was possibly married to Mary's sister also, Keziah????
Does any of this make sense? Joshua and Mary had a son Abraham? Let me know what you have. Lynda

Hi, all: I descend from Ambrose Gresham (b ca 1780-90) Va d. 1871 Person Co, NC. He mar Susannah N Blanton in 1811 Halifax Co, VA. She was a daughter of Richard Blanton and Jane Rice who married in Prince Edward Co, Va 1795. Not sure when Richard died, but Jane married 2nd Jesse Crenshaw in 1805 in Lunnenburg County, Va. Jane was supposedly the dau of James or John Rice.

Do you have any info on Richard & Elinor Blanton . . . particularly his parents. Trying to figure if he had brothers Joshua & William.

Richard Blanton with wife Ellenor/Nelly,
William (wife unknown) ,
Joshua (wife possible Lucy) ,
and maybe Thomas III.

Nancy (or anyone out there :), I recently saw your old post re: Richard and Elizabeth Blanton and their children: You mentioned the 1850 census with Elizabeth as head of household. I saw that one and thought it could have gone along with my Blanton line. My ggggrandmother was Lucy Jane Blanton (b: 1838 Prince Ed; d: 1874 Charlotte Cnty VA). She married Robert A. Holt. They had children named Alice Magdalene, Joseph Walker, William R., Thomas Pickett, Robert Archer. Based upon her age, I had assumed the Lucy listed on the 1850 census was my Lucy. In the 1870 census of Charlotte, a 60 year old Betsy Blanton is living with Robert and Lucy and their children.

Could we possibly be talking about the same people? I'd love any information and would gladly share what I know.

PS: Mary Magdelene Holt married Ben Barksdale and lived in Mecklenburg Cnty VA in 1880. I've seen the Barksdale name mentioned in other posts.

Paul, I'm trying to research my Blanton line. In connecting the dots, it looks like my gggrandmother, Lucy Jane Blanton, was a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth F. Blanton and a sister of your gggrandmother. She married Robert Holt and moved to Charlotte Cnty VA. I may have some names and dates to pass on to you.
