Dahlquist from Sweden

I am trying to find descendants to Andrew and Olivia Dahlquist who immigrated from Sweden 1867 and settled in California for a couple of years, and then moved to Washington.

I have found out that Olivia and Andrew first settled in Freeport Cowlitz Washington and then in Ostrander Cowlitz Washington. They got three children, Charles born 1882, Florence Hulda born 1877 and Mary born 1873. Mary died early.

Charles married Leona/Ona and got four children, Edward or Edwin born 1908, Ralph born 1910, Erma born 1912 and Truman born 1916. I can trace Charles´s family up to Census 1920 but can´t find any of them in Census 1930. What happened to them?

Florence married Chris Christensen (born in Denmark) and they got two sons, Harold A born 1902 and Walter born 1904.
Harold married Ester born 1896, and the got five children Harold A born 1923, Howard T born 1925, Walter E born 1927 and the twins Esther L and Hester L born 1928. I have no further information about what happened after 1930.

Florence´s son Walter, what happened to him? Did he stay unmarried? I think he died in 1949, but i´m not quite sure of that.

I have problems finding information from after 1930 and I hope that someone familiar with the local genealogy in Washington might be able to help me. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Has anyone seen my Klines? Looking for Peter KLINE and mother, Esther "Hattie" (Fegley) KLINE. Peter was born 1835, presumably in Lehigh Co., PA., and is listed on the 1840 and 1850 census reports with his mother and siblings in Richland Township, Clarion Co., PA. According to family story, Peter moved to "Washington" and died some time before 1913. Could this be the state of Washington? And could Esther, born 26 Sep. 1803, have gone with Peter? Any clues as to these individuals' whereabouts greatly appreciated

Hi there,
Currently, I am looking for the marriage and death data on Sven Petter Johannesson Lund a.k.a. Peter Lind b. 1/22/1863 in Sodra Lundby, Skaraborgs Ian, Sweden. So far, I know he married Annie ? abt 1890 and had three children in Washington. I also know that his parents, Johannes Persson and Christina Svensdotter, were both born in Sweden. The former was born on 8/1/1826 at Tang, Skaraborgs Ian, Sweden and the latter came in Herrijunga, Alvsborgs, Sweden on 5/25/1830. This pair generated eight children. So far, this is all the data I have on this family, but if anyone has or discovers more relating to them I'd love to know!

Katrina Carter

I found another branch of my Darknell family and I ordered a birth certificate for Lloyd James Darknell, born in Stockton California in Oct 1932 in order to place them in my family tree.

Anyway, the birth certificate came and said his father was William Darknell, who was 33 at his last birthday (in 1932). This William Darknell is a mystery to me, and I thought I had a good handle on the Washington branch of the Darknell family.

The closest I have been able to find is a male child born to Hattie Darknell and Paul Stoy, but the record gives a Darknell last name for the child and no first name.

Is there anyway I can figure out who William Darknell is? Can I order a birth record that is so vague? i.e. parents not known, no exact birth date.

Thanks,
Sharon (Darknell) Kidder

Looking for descendants of HUDSUL PAYNE or Henry David Payne

Hello! I'm looking for a) photos of descendants of Henry David Payne and b) ANY information on his son, Hudsul M Payne. Also looking for male descendants who may be willing to take a DNA test. =) I'll happily cover the cost.

Various family members report that my great-grandmother, Vina L (Etheridge) Hutchins had my grandfather by a man named "Hudd Payne" and ran off with both man and child shortly after my grandfather was born. My grandfather, Eugene Patrick Hutchins, was born 1933. He was born in Wenatchee according to military records, and as Vina and Chester Hutchins lived in Omak, Okanogon, Washington in 1930, I believe that this is probable. My grandfather was essentially raised by a single mother, however.

Vina later married Verner R Tuegel and had a child by him, Verner R Tuegel Jr., in 1943 -- the same year that Hudsul died.

Using what little information I had, I discovered Payne family members living in Omak, Okanogon, Washington in 1930. Hudsul is nowhere to be found in 1930, but I assume that since his siblings are in that county that year, he must be as well. He is the ONLY man in Washington who fits the description of my great-grandmother's lover. Hudsul was in Dyer, Douglas, Washington or Bodie, Okanogon, Washington in 1920. In 1910, he is found living with his parents, Henry David Payne and Celia Ann Shuford, and family in Lake, Douglas, Washington.

Hudsul PAYNE was born in Big Ivy, Buncombe, North Carolina in 1900. He died 8 Sep 1943 in Walla Walla, Washington.

I do know that Hudsul's father, Henry, remarried in 1912 to Mabel Martha Webster and had a daughter, Cora Joy Payne, who in turn married a Lunstrum. Mabel and Cora both died in Ellensburg. It seems that my father and I are related to the Lunstrums in Ellensburg.

Hudsul PAYNE and Vina HUTCHINS never married, as far as I can tell. (Cannot locate any records of a marriage between them or between her and Verner Tuegel.)

I'm curious to know if Hudsul ever married and had children.

I would greatly appreciate photos, records (esp. marriage or obits), or even just family stories. I wonder what the story is from the other side. What did Hudsul's family say when he ran off with a married woman? Did they say anything at all?

Thank you all so very much.

Sincerely,
Roshelle

Her name was Debra and is now Debbie Ashbrook. I will give more information if anyone can help me out.

I would be forever grateful if anyone has information. I feel like a huge part of me is missing and I would die happy just to know who they are.

Washington Death Index 1907 - 1960 At FamilySearch

Just a reminder, in case you haven't found it yet: the LDS Church has posted a newly-revised electronic index to Washington death certificates 1907 - 1960. It is part of the pilot program associated with the redesigned FamilySearch web site. No more murky microfilm! No more Soundexing! Best of all, it's free!

To go there:

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#w=;p=2...

This link leads you directly to the Washington query page. To search the entire pilot project, click on "new search."

This is a really neat index. It is forwardly-searchable by maiden names of women, has fuzzy matching, has exact matching, and is location-sensitive. Have fun, everybody.

Betty Smith

I have a picture of a woman named Betty Smith that was the niece of Mamie Smith. Betty lived in Washington State when the portrait was made. Mamie was the daughter of Ralph Smith by his second wife, but his son John J by the second wife did not have a daughter named Betty, therefore, I believe that Betty was the daughter of Mamie's half brother Samuel. Samuel was born in Mobile AL in 1879, the son of Ralph Smith and Joanna. Joanna was the first wife of Ralph Smith. Joanna's Mother and Father were from Scotland. I would appreciate any information on Joanna, Samuel or Betty Smith that might be related to Mamie Smith.

345 86 N.W. Seattle, Washington is the last address I have for my Great-grandmother and she is not listed there in 1920, although her son Edward Bernard Carlson is. She was born 31 January 1855 in Sweden. Her name is CARLOLINA CARLSON Carlena, Lena, Caroline are also names used. If there is an index to help me, I would appreciate your help. I've sent for death records, but they keep sending me ones that don't fit my dates. Her husband was John Carlson and he died in 1913. She immegrated on 25 May 1885. T.B. was a family ailment, so she may have been hospitalized outside of Seattle when she died.
Would love to find a death record for Edward B. Carlson, too. He was born 28 September 1891 in Seattle and seems to disappear in soon after 1920.

I'm probably searching for a needle in a haystack but does anyone have any information of my great grandfather Angus A. Boy who was born in 1867 in Montreal, Canada. He had two brothers Robert and John that I know of. I just received his Obituary from 1945 where is says he had 3 step-sisters living in Settle, WA. This is the first I heard of sisters. I know his father died when he was 12 or 13 and his mother Anna Bell re-married a man from the Hudson bay co. and Angus left home and settled in Salinas, CA.
Would love any information available.
Thanks,
Bonnie

LUDWIGSEN, Ludwig (b. July 30, 1854, Norway) - A Ludwigsen in Norway, not very fluent in English, is looking for possible descendents last known to have been in Seattle. The Norwegian immigrant, Ludwig was a baker in Norway, then a "railroad worker in Seattle". He married "a Swedish woman" and a daughter, Mabel Ludvigsen, was in
Norway (apparently visiting) in 1933 and "Ludvig was alive" at that time. He is seeking ANY information about these or any descendants. I am posting this as an unknown County since Ludwig was a RR worker and may have lived in another location. The Norway searcher is Sverre G. Ludwigsen at ludwigsw@online.no - If answered directly, please cc to me.

I'm trying to help someone in Finland trace ancestors to the United States. Here is the information supplied to me. Janes Jaakonpoika Hilli (21 Aug 1875 - 27 Nov 1963). Was in the USA 1903-1907 and again starting in 1913. He married in the US, wife's name unknown. They had 2 sons, Johan Aarne, born 20 Jul 1915, and Frank Elmer, born 18 Nov 1917. I believe I found the family in the 1920 census, Washington state, Lewis County, Independence precinct, enumeration district 146. The wife's name seems to read Rosa M., born in Finland and the 2 boys born in Washington. I can't find any birth record for the boys or death record for the parents. I can't locate them in the 1930 census. I do find the 2 boys listed in the SSN death index. Any other information would be welcome. I'm also posting to the Finnish board. Thanks in advance.

I am desperately seeking information on Auguste Ottilie (Szlagowski Bablewski)Herrmann (spellings could/will vary), my great great grandmother. She and her husband, Richard, and two daughters (Helen 15, Martha 12) are last located on the 1910 Washington census, Spokane, Spokane Co. I cannot locate them on the 1920 or 1930 census. I cannot locate Auguste or Richard on the Washington Death Index that begins in 1940 so I am assuming they died prior to 1940. I do not know whom her daughters married or even if they married. I do not know if Auguste and Richard remained in the Spokane area after 1910. If I could at least locate where and when they died, it will help tremendously. I have a birth date of 27 Sep 1858/61 for Auguste and Jan 1869 for Richard.

I am searching for descendants of the Hanberg family. In May of 1886, Leonard Johannessen of HANBERGET farm in Borge Norway, and his wife Marianne Kristoffersdatter and their 6 children immigrated from Borge Lofoten Norway to America. This is from the Borge migration records in Norway. The names of their children are not listed, however, I believe one was Martin born 1869, and one was Henning born 1871. After arriving in America they took the name HANBERG, after their farm in Norway. Various records have followed Martin and Henning to Montana, North Dakota, Washington, and Sascatchewan.
BURGESS, HARVEY, LEWIS, HILL, TOWNSON, HAYDOCK, UNDERWOOD, TOMPHSON, WHITE, POOLE, JESSOP, WELDMAN, HOPKINS, GOOD, BURGESS, HENLEY, GAUSE, HARVEY, GREEN, CORNSTALK, PERRY, WINDER.
I have found 3 family albums in very good condition with the above surnames. I bought it because of the BURGESS & LEWIS names in it of which I am researching for myself. I would love to get this to the proper family. I belive this family lived somewhere in Washington State, some of the pictures have Indiana on the back. All pictures are middle to late 1800's as well as a couple of tin-types. Please understand I am not selling this, only trying to return to an interested family member.

I am looking for any lead in locating the grave of my great great grandfather, Andrew Gunder Hanson (Hansen). The information I have discoverd so far is:

Father - Hans Dynge, b 1-11-1838, Norway, d 8-18-1907,
North Dakota, buried Elk Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery, Grand Forks County, ND.

Mother - Jertrud, b 1834, Norway, d 1927, North Dakota, buried Elk Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery, Grand Forks County, ND.

Spouse - Pauline (Lena) Fagstad, b. 1866, d 1896, North Dakota, buried Elk Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery - their marriage record in the church shows the last name spelled "Hansen" but her grave is marked "Hanson"

Children - Sally Hanson Carney, b. 1888 - d 1963,
George Hanson, b 1891 - d. 1945
William Martin Hanson, b 1895 - d 1972 - my grandfather

Brother(s) - Nels

Sometime after the death of his wife Lena, Andrew left North Dakota and went to the west coast. I have a letter from my grandfather to my mother that indicates this. It is possible that he re-married, but I cannot confirm this.

I also have a letter, written to my grandfather in 1965, from a person who identifies himself as "Uncle Knut" that states Andrew died sometime in the 1930's and a obituary was publised in a Seattle newspapaper. I have identified this person as Knut Dynge from Medford, OR. I have not been able to establish his true relationship with Andrew of my grandfather.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for information on my maternal grandfather (Woodrow E Wilson) and grandmother (Mary).

Woodrow Wilson was born sometime around 1918 in somewhere in Oklahoma and committed suicide on November 2 1966 in Puyallup, Washington - Age 48 or 49. At that point he was divorced from my grandmother (Mary) with whom he had 4 kids (with her at least): Jacqueline Sue Wilson, Pamela and Judy. They also had a son, but I don't have any information on him. Woodrow had remarried a woman named Ruth after he divorced Mary.

Mary (possible maiden name of Warrick or similar) remarried at least once after divorcing Woodrow; one of the men was named Glenn.

Any records (especially marriage so I can find out Mary's real maiden name) you could find would be amazing... This one is really cracking my skull.

McLEOD, EDWARDS, WHITE

I am searching for info on my Grandfather John A. McLEOD, his wife Lucy, and their children: Ava, Beula(h), and Maurice. I found all these names while searching the 1920 Census of Clark County, Washington. Ava married a Hugh A. EDWARDS, and had a son, Hugh John Edwards. Beula(h) married a "WHITE" and had two daughters, a Dorothy and Bonnie. I believe that Ava and her family moved to King County, Seattle, and was there in the early 1940's. I do have a photo of Hugh John (Sonny) Edwards.
Thank You.

Looking for a relative.

Hi, I live in Norway and I'm trying to locate a lost relative who emigrated to the US in 1911. I know that he settled in the area around Spokane, and died around 1963. His name is Knut Knudson(Knutson). He was born in 1892 in Norway. He was married, but never had children of his own. His wife passed away a few years before he died. Is there a way to locate him? Where he lived and at which cemetary he's buried?
Thanks.
