I am researching my Breton ancestors. According to my information, one was named Marie-Denise QUERE. She was b. late 1700's. She m. Pierre LEROUX. They had at least one child, Gabriel-Victor LEROUX.

Now that I have read your query, I wonder if the QUERE surname of Marie-Denise is not complete. Should this surname be listed more correctly as "LE QUERE?" Can you advise?

Very sorry for the delay in replying. My Goulequer ancestor is Philomene, b. abt. 1843 in Penmarc'h, Brittany. Parents unknown. Two older brothers, Jean-Louis b. abt 1840 and unknown. Jean-Louis might have been a priest. Philomene married Michel Louis-Marie Riou 1863. One son, Francois. Michel Riou died 1867. Philomene married Pierre LeCleac'h 1868. 3 sons, 1 daughter: Alain, Alexis, Francois Vincent, Philomene.

The birth dates are compatible with yours, and Penmarc'h is not far from Plomeur.
