You may be a descendant of
Clement Emile Piguet's third son, Alexander Piguet, born 1848, probably in Louisville,
Stark Co., Ohio. 1850 census shows Mary Anne Piguet as a 26 year old widow (of
Clement Emile Piguet) . Francis Edward was 6 years old, Alexander was 2 years old, and Claude Emile (my g-grandfather) was 4 months old. Clement Emile died in late October or early November 1849.
Francis Edward Piguet had three children: Rosa Piguet born in 1870, John Andrew Piguet, born 7 October 1872 in
Portsmouth,
Ohio and Maggie Pauline Piguet born in 1879. The family migrated to IL, MO, AR and OK.
I have no information on Alexander Piguet and assume he remained in Louisville/Portsmouth,
Ohio area.
Clement Claude Piguet (my grandfather) migrated to
Kansas and then to OK. A brother, Florence Piguet, moved to KS, OK, and on to Mohave, CA.
It would be great if you have research beyond your grandfather. If he was born late 1800's or early 1900's, he could be a grandson of Alexander Piguet. Alexander apparently did not leave
Ohio when other family members did.
Let me know if any names are familiar. I have more information on the Piguets that migrated westward.
