Hi,
My father is looking for his own father that he never met. After 50 years of silence, his mother finally told him that his father's name was Darwin. He was a military in Chaumont-Semoutiers in 56-57...
Darwin is not a usual name so if you have any information, we would be pleased to receive them.

You could try to request his military record: http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/

also check in the Social Security death index if he was a US citizen: http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/
