My husband is Corey Simonpietri and is the great-great grandson of August Simonpietri. We still live in Richmond and Corey's Dad does as well? What is your connection?

Hi Jennifer,

This is Judy Simonpietri. I am Chris's wife. I have been reasearching the Simonpietris for awhile and hoping someone in Corsica will contact me. I found out August's mother lived in Ersa. I assume that is where he was born but do not know for sure.

Are you researching too? Tell Corey hi for us and hope all of you are well.

When is Barry coming back?
Let me hear from you.
Love Judy

Hi Judy!

How are you? I am not really researching, I just was intriqued about how much information came up when I was researching someone that I put my name in the search engine to see what would happen and the ancestry page came up.

I think Barry is finished this week and is driving back on Friday. He came home for Amy's twins baptism this past weekend however.

I hope you and your family are doing well.

Did one of the brothers settle in Puerto Rico? I saw someone researching Simonpietri's from Puerto Rico I think in this ancestry board. Let me know. Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
There were some cousins from Puerto Rico but as far as I know there were no brothers that settled there. I think there was only one other brother and two sisters.

Thank you for the info about Barry. Hope the twins are well and your children.

Are you fenni@comcast.net? If you are we can communicate that way. I am peluz3@hotmail.com.

Talk to you later.

Love Judy

The following Simonpietri names appear in the books dealing with Corsican Immigration to Puerto Rico:

Enrique Simonpietri, 21 years old in 1872, settled in Ponce
Felix Simonpietri, 76 years old in 1872, settled in Coamo and later in Ponce
Felix Simonpietri, 27 years old in 1872, settled in Ponce
Ulises Simonpietri, 28 years old in 1872, settled in Ponce

The books were written by Estela Cifre de Loubriel and Maria Dolores Luque de Sanchez.

That is all the information I have.

You responded to my query on the ancestry message board and I never thanked you for the information so I am thanking you now. I still have not found the link on Corsica I am looking for. Thank you again.

Hello. My family also emigrated from Ersa, Corsica to Puerto Rico. I'm wondering if there is any family or business (merchant) connection to Simonpietri through the Capifali, Pizzini, Vigo, Detres or Journet lines (all surnames of my forebears). Please e-mail me if you know of any possible connections.

I am looking for relatives of my late father, Paul Simonpietri. He was from Corsica and had many relatives in Sartene, Corsica.

Paul eventually moved to California.

Any information is appreciated.
