Hello Laura,
Needed to let you know I did find the letters and ancestry info and pictures you sent to us in 1998.
Now I truly need to appologize to you for mot responding to you at that time. My sister was very ill and I was with her at that time and,
Loren was just retiring. Much going on then and you were put aside and I am sorry. Didn't actually realize all that you had sent-bless your heart.
Your info is truly helpful and I'm now sure I will be able to contribute to the tree. Have discovered many newspaper articles of the
Emnott family and trying to include them in there profiles within the tree.
I was contacted by a Fred
Seiber in Sacramento, Ca. A relative of
Williamsonon of Micheal and Agnes
Ritter Emnott. Agnes' mother was Margaret
Ritter bn. 1806 NY.
Therefore Micheal's mother-in-law and grandmother to their children--William,Frank,David,
Mata etc. Unable to find anything on father-in-law
Ritter other that he was from Mass. and must have died around 1850 as the 1850 NY.census for Micheal and Agnes shows her living with them.
1860 Waupaca, Wi. shows her there with them and listed as mother-in-law. This does give way yet to another generation and gggg grandparents.
Now, if only we can only find Margaret's maiden name and Mr. Ritter's first name. The 1870 Waupaca census shows her living with William and Effie
Sheldon and listed as Mother-in-law. Effie
Ritter Sheldon must be Agnes
Ritter Emnott's sister.
Enough now Laura--Needed to let you know I am truly greatful to you and please let me know if I can be of any help to you.
I do have a deluxe membership to Ancestry.com and can attach you thru to the
Emnott tree free of charge and enabling you to view all living as well as deceased.
Truly Your's, Vivienne
