Hello everyone. I was notified by a very helpful person of the existence of searchable on-line records for Sarthe.

It is http://www.archives.sarthe.com/RegistreNumerise.htm

Does anyone know of something similar with other departments? I am looking for records from Mayenne and Meuse in particular.
Thank you. Ken in Rancho Cordova, CA

Try this link,
http://www.francegenweb.org/~archives/archivesgenweb/?id=adf...

Fot the Mayenne, it's on line; for the Meuse: Project in 2008

I also have ancestors in Mayenne.
I crossed much Segretain in my research at bourgon, la Croixille, le bourgneuf la forêt…
If you have ancestors near, then perhaps are we cousins?

Many "mayennais" marriages were listed by this genealogical association:

Hi, I do not know where cities and towns are in relationship to each other. Rene SEGRETAIN married Marie LELIEVRE before 1844, perhaps in St.Pierre-laCour, Mayenne. I have only one child born of this marriage, Julien SEGRETAIN, b. 8 Apr 1844 in same town. Julien married Henriette HOMME 12 Jun 1868 in St. Martial le Mont, Creuse. This couple had 9 children for whom we have only 7 names. 4 of the 7 had marriages and children. My tree is at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=kenskin39

St Pierre la cour, it is not far: 10kms of the village which I indicated!
For me, that seems easy to go up! You can, of course, will see the birth certificate of Julien Segretain on the website of the "Archives de la mayenne": http://www.lamayenne.fr/

I found the marriage of their parents: on May 8, 1841 at "la Chapelle Erbrée": Rene Segretain and Marie Marguerite Lelièvre

La Chapelle Erbrée is not in Mayenne, but in Ille et Vilaine (Bretagne) and it does not have there files on line.
But it is my department, and normallement I go to the Archives départementales d'I&V at the end of August.
If you want, I can take a photograph of the act of the marriage.
I also have of Lelièvre among my ancestors

A plus tard,

J'ai également des Lelièvre dans mes ancêtres, dont

Thank you very much!! I am in contact with a SEGRETAIN descendant (now living in Hawaii) who would love to have a copy. I will forward it on to her.

I will be out-of-state until August and away from my computer - and so, incommunicado. Merci beaucoup!

Hi. I am back from Oregon. Were you able to take a photo of the marriage license?

Thank you very much. I am guessing this month may be when you are on holiday, c'est vrai?

I am researching the Segretain family. This is the family
that left France and wet to Nova Scotia coal mining country
I have not been able to prove the ancestry back past Rene who married Lelievre. I have been told his father was Rene
also and married Marie Goulard (Gayard?) but no luck finding proof.
