Does this mean you are an acestor of Louis Sire of Acadia: circa 1690?

If so you are just the person we need to help us clear up a mystery.

As you probably know: there were 3 men with the Sire name original to Canada:

Andre Sire of Quebec arriving 1668 (who actually spelled his name Le Syre) from La Rochelle region.

Pierre Sire (listed in Port Royal 1671 (who actually spelled his name Sirre)origin officially unknown.

and Louis Sire said to be from Normandy.

We have done DNA testing of living males and find Andre and Pierre were not relatives at the time of their arrival: however there are enough markers to suggest that they shared a common ancestor perhaps 400 years or so prior.

We want to determine if Louis Sire is a blood relative to either of these men and so far cannot find a male for testing purposes.

There would be no cost to you: and the test is just a cheek swab.

Would you be interested in adding your DNA to the French Heritage Project? that is a bank of men now in North America with original French ancestors.

Also: do you have real data to support that Louis is originally from Normandy?.........I know we see it posted a lot.......but do actual records exist?

This would help us sort out where the unknown Pierre came from.

Thanks: Suzanne Sears
