Hi,

Who are you? I'm related to Desveaux, Dalais and Favori and all these 3 names appeared on your message...Very strange. My grandfathers' dad was Frederic Dalais. And my grandmothers' dad Theophane Desveaux married to Gabrielle Favori...Does that say anything to you?

I look forward to your reply.

Regards
Beatrice

My Belgian mother passed away (January 2000) at the age of 94 and I'm trying to build a family tree with all the photos she had.
Her family names were Regaert and De Broé.
One of her uncles De Broé (Seraphin) or aunts (Maria) moved to Paris long ago. Their daughter Henriette had two sons, Michel and Serge. Serge fathered Mariette, Bruno,Serge and Catherine; they must be around their 50's right now. Mariette married Roger and have a daughter Emmanuelle, Bruno married Marie Helene.
I'm afraid the name De Broé is no longer valid, since the descendant was Henriette (married to ??? ). But having several first names of the same family, I hope maybe someone might know them.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Dear M Dalais,

My maternal grandmother, Mme Odette Quirin, was born a Mlle Dalais. Her father was Ange Dalais and he married a Mlle Veron.

Mme Quirin and her siblings, Ange and Marie-Judith, were orphaned at an early age and are buried at St Jean, a bit further in from Adrien Dalais and his family.

My grandmother died in 1996, but, in 1995, mentioned that the Dalais have links with Trou d'Eau Douce, but did not elaborate further/how.

It would be interesting to find out about one's ancestors and any links with other Dalais.

Thanks and regards,

Irving Henry

I'm looking for any information about the Herlidan family of France, particularly of Britanny. My great grandfather stowed away on a boat from Brest and landed in Newfoundland, Canada. His name was Jean(John) Herlidan. The surname is only currently found on the South Coast of Newfoundland, and no where else in Canada. If anyone has any information about the family or the surname I would love to hear from you!

Thanks,
Vicki Mahar

Hi there, I noticed you replied to my posting, and realized it was the wrong spelling. Is there a connection between your surname and Newfoundland, Canada? Sometimes, families as they move to different locations, the spelling is changed. Perhaps that was the case here? So, I was still wondering, if you had thought there might be a connection.

Thanks,
Vicki

Its a very nice picture.
I have an e-mail address for a man in the U. S. who just happens to have come from France about 11 years ago. I've corresponded with him but he doesn't have a lot of information. He said his great uncle was compiling information on the family name. If we have any questions,we can email him the info and he can forward it on to his great uncle. His great uncle does not have email, as far as he knew.

Dear Lynda: Sorry it took me a while to get back to you, but my PC was in the shop twice and I ended up having to buy a new one.

I will give you all of the info that I have on Pierre Girouard. The first Pierre that I have of record is the son of Jacques and Marguerite Gauterot (Gotrot). He was born in 1672 and married in 1697 to Marie Comeau. He was one of 14 children. They had 6 children. His second marriage on Nov 14, 1709 was to Marie Doiron, daughter of Jean Doiron and his second wife. Marie Trahan. They had 9 children.Louis Pierre Paul, son of Pierre and Marie Doiron was born in 1716, and married in 1736 to Marie Thibodeau. They were with Malpeque, the Midsummer's Day Island in 1752. After the fall of Louisbourg, they took refuge with bay of Heats. Soon they were taken as prisoners to Halifax where Marie
Thibodeau died.Their son Gervais Paul married Madeleine Genevieve Theriault. Their son, Pierre Paul born in 1775, married in 1796 to Rose Cormier. Their son Pierre, was born in 1797 and married in 1822 to Marie Allain. These are all of the Pierre's that I could find in the Girouard Tree. I think that the first Pierre is the one born in 1672 and although some of the others have Pierre as part of their name, I feel that the Pierre born in 1797 is the second Pierre.

Hope this is the info that you were searching for.

Hello Marie, thank you for your kind offer about my research in ReUnion Island. Not speaking French it is rather difficult to make my self understood when I write. And as the baptism, marriage and burial records are not in a central place but one has know the area in which the person you are looking for actually lived. Our line is 1.Eleanor (slave), 2 her son Pierre Joseph (Geo) Montrose b 1784c.St Marie, Pierre had 3 chn; the 3rd child, Jean Baptiste (Arthur) bn 1814, and he had a son Louis Ernest bn 1852 St Marie. Louis Ernest moved to New Caledonia probably with another family from ReUnion the FLORIANS. Louis married one of the Florian daughters, then in 1885-1887 they all moved to the Fiji Islands where a son was born 1889 (My husbands father). Louis disappeared from Fiji leaving his wife and son there, and I am wondering if he went back to ReUnion to live, but I suppose this would be difficult to find out now. Any suggestions or help you can give me with this family would be very much appreciated. I do have a little more information on the different generations which I can give you next time.Would there be any passenger lists of ships leaving ReUnion to go to New Caledonia in the years of 1861-1880.Thank you again. Pearl.
