I have been advised that my relatives came from the Strasburg area then after the 30 years war moved to an area described as the Moselle. In about 1754 following the plague (1680-1775?) they moved to Udange BE. Anyone have any suggestions where I should begin my search in the "Moselle" area for a family called Schortgen (Shortge') prior to 1754? Would any records exist in that area for that timeframe?
