I'm just starting this venture for the first time...Paternal grandparents: Prim Bonee, Jessie Francis Bonee, Maternal grandparents: Roland Davis, Dalmatia Davis. I don't know their maiden names...and don't know much more. They are originally from Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee. I don't have any other information yet...My parents are Kenneth Bonee and Ola Sirlene (Davis) Bonee. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have any information past Roland....he was my grandfather...his wife was Dellie (Dalmatia). Dellie's father was from Germany and changed his name when he arrived at the US, and her mother was a full-blooded Cherokee. This is why I'm having such a difficult time tracing my mom's side. Roland (her father) died when she was only 11. He's buried in either Marked Tree or Lepanto, Arkansas. Does any of this sound familiar to you?

I have a lot of stuff from distant family members off the main branch of the family tree...I just haven't had time to put it all in order. I have info on our great grandparents, etc., dating back to the mid 1800's. I'll have to get it all together and email it to you and Aunt Melinda. Dad remembers some of his Aunts and Uncles now that I've found some info. I was also told about some brief stories regarding them by some 2nd and 3rd cousins that I email often.

I don't know which relatives you may be in contact with down south, but the last time I was there was when my grandfather died, a few years ago. The immediate family was all there, and I met grandpa's sis, Louise (she said it was the first time she had seen me since I was a baby) and one of his brothers...but I can't remember if it was Gilbert Dewey or Clyde...I think only two of grandpa's siblings are still alive, according to my dad. My dad's brother, Joe and his wife are considering planning a reunion (we've been talking about it for years). They live in Arkansas. My dad's two sisters, Sarah and Janice, and a brother, Floyd, live near me.

I live in Northwest Indiana, and I have met several more "lost" relatives and gained information on the Bonee family tree as far back as 1814. More information is certainly welcome.
