Dear Monique,

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I would like to receive the information about the Nadeau's. It is my maiden name also. I have some information also and perhaps we could exchange info.
Do you have an information about the Nadeau family in France? I understand that there is a book about Nadeau family history. Do you know anything about this book?

Dear Therese,
Here is some information regarding Ozanie, the first Nadeau to set foot in the New World, was 23 years old when he arrived in the town of Quebec in the summer of 1660. Ozanie worked as a laborer for three years and was granted his first tract of land in the parish of Ste. Family on Ile D'Orleans on 3 Jan. 1663.
Joseph-Ozanie Nadeau dit Lavigne (son of Macia Nadeau born about 1610 & Jeanne Despins or Despiers) married (Contract 06 Nov. 1665 with lawyer Pierre Duquet) at the Court House of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada to Marie Marguerite Abraham (daughter of Guillaume or Godgaud Abraham & Denise Fleury). Ozanie was born about 1637 in Angouleme, Angoumois, Charente and died 10 Feb. 1677 and was buried 12 Feb. 1677 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec. Confirmation 11 April 1662 at Chateau-Richer, Quebec. Marguerite was born about 1645 in the parish of St. Eustache, Paris. She was described as being well educated and lovely, and nicknamed the beautiful parisian. She remarried 31 Jan 1678 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec to Guillaume Chartier (son of Oliver & Marie Cronet)

The children of Ozanie and Marguerite were:

1)Marie born 01 May 1667 and died 02 Aug. 1672 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec . Her godparents were: Jean Prevost and Marie Rubert (wife of Jean Prevost)

2)Jean or Jean-Baptiste born 16 April 1669, baptise 22 April 1669 and died 01 Mar. 1735 (he was 66 years old at the time of his death) at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec. His godparents were: Jean Deperdeau or Dupardon and Marie Mesure (wife of Michel Montambault). Jean married Anne Casse/Lacasse (daughter of Antoine & Francoise Piloy-de-Pitie on 06 Sept. 1689 at St-Etienne-de-Beaumont, Bellechase Co., Quebec. Anne was born 29 Aug. 1674 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec and died 11 June 1754 at St-Nicolas, Montmorency Co., Quebec

3)Adrien born 28 Feb. 1672, baptise 13 Mar. 1672 and died 14 Mar. 1672 and buried 15 Mar. 1672 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec. His godparents were: Adrien Blanquet & Elisabeth Meunier.

4)Denis born 25 May 1673, baptise 18 June 1673 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec and died 02 Mar 1759 and buried 04 Mar. 1759 at St-Michel, Montmorency Co., Quebec. His godparents were: Denis Derome dit DesCarreaux & Francoise Deschaux (wife of Louis Chapplain). (THIS IS MY DIRECT DESCENDANT LINE ON THE Nadeau WITH Denis & CHARLOTTE). Denis married Charlotte Casse/Lacasse (daughter of Antoine & Francoise Piloy-de-Pitie ) on 09 Nov. 1695 at St-Etienne-de-Beaumont, Bellechase Co., Quebec. Charlotte was born 21 June 1678 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Montmorency Co., Quebec and died 06 Mar 1722 at St-Etienne-de-Beaumont, Bellechase Co., Quebec. SECOND WEDDING - Denis remarried to Elisabeth Roy/LeRoy (daughter of Louis & Marie Ledran) on 22 May 1724 at St-Etienne-de-Beaumont, Bellechase Co., Quebec. Elisabeth was born 23 May 1705 and died 29 Nov. 1771 at St-Etienne-de-Beaumont, Bellechase Co., Quebec.

5)Catherine born 05 June 1676 and baptise 14 June 1676 at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Quebec, she died 22 July 1746 at St-Pierre, Ile D'Orleans. Her godparents were Jean Jouanne & Catherine Boisandre (wife of Marc Antoine Gobelin dit St-Marc). Catherine married Jean Roy/LeRoy (son of Nicolas & Jeanne Lelievre) on 29 April 1694 at St. Laurent, Ile D'Orlean, Montmorency Co., Quebec. Jean was born 13 Oct 1669 at Chateau-Richer, Quebec. I have no death information on this individual.
This is the beginning of the Nadeau, I have all the children also but it will take a lot of room to enclosed them all and their marriage. I have pretty much branched out the whole family right up to my father's and my line. Regarding the Nadeau family history book I have no idea about that. And no I have nothing regarding the family of Macia and Jeanne Despins. Do you have any information regarding his brother or sisters or parents on both side? I would very much appreciated it if you have them to receive them. Anything in France there is nothing to be found here in Canada. We could exchange information my Canada for your France information.

Your cousin, Monique

** These were my great-grandparents on my mother's side.
9th generation: Joseph Emile Nadeau - Florida Blanche Dubord ** My mother's parents
10th generation: Aline Aldea Nadeau - Robert Charles Breton ** My parents
11th generation: Janet Diane Breton married to Taylor Elliott Irving, Jr ( since divorced)
12th generation: Ryan, Shaun, Christopher, and Meagan Irving (these are my children.
If you would care for more information, I have some dates and locations of marriage for most of the above family members; I don't have everything, but it may match up with information that you may have, or fill in the blanks. Please feel free to e - mail me at janetbreton@hotmail.com. Please let me know if this anything you needed. My parents are deceased, and my aunt and uncle (who did this research) are not in good health, but my cousin has access to it, and I'm sure she would be glad to share.
Thank you for your time; hope this helps, or at least verifies the information you have.
Janet Breton
