Hello Regine, Thank you for your reply. I would like to know why and how John and Susannah Hunter and family were in Polynesia. Did John Hunter have his own ship? His son, Alexander, was captain of the Eliza. Is there any record of this vessel, and where and how did Alexander die. Where and when did Alexander and Eliza marry and why did Eliza and baby Alexander come to Queensland? I would like to know more of the history of the Hunter family in Polynesia. This has been a vague story that's been passed down but noone knew there was a large family behind it. Exciting stuff!Alexander was the only son of Alexander snr and Eliza Irvine.
