Hi,
My Great Great Grandfather Amadeus Isnardy was born in Nice around 1840. At 14 he stowed away on a ship bound for Mexico. He eventually ended up in Canada in British Columbia where he married Julienne Willmatkwa. Does anyone know anything about Isnardy roots in Nice or elsewhere in France? Would appreciate any information.

I knew that Isnardy could be German. It translates somehow as Iron Hearted or something like that. The Cdn Isnardy's trace their roots to Nice. I think back then it was spelled Isnardi with an i. Amadee my GG Grandfather changed it in Canada.

I found out recently that his parents were Constance Geoffrois and Joseph Isnardi. I can't find any record of them however. Do you have any connexion to these two?

My Great Great Grandfather was Amadee Isnardy (originally from Les Mujouls, France ended up in Williams Lake (Chimney Creek)). His daughter Hortense Isnardy was my Great Granmother. She married Pablo Tresierra and their daughter Agnes Tresierra Prest is my Grandmother.

Luc Isnardy is a third cousin. His Great Great Grandfather was Amadee's brother.

Is Willie Isnardy one of Amadee's sons?
