Hello!

The Navarre website has a Jeanne Tessier who married Jacques Grignon. They had a son, Jacques Pierre who immigrated to Canada. He married Marie Lafleche.

If this is the Tessier that you are looking for, I would look at the Navarre site.

Good Luck, God Bless,
Kathy

Hello I don't know much about the Huguenot diaspora in the USA - Have you tried Geneanet ? Most results for TEULON between 1740 and 1780 point to the Languedoc region (Gard, Herault), some from Bordeaux

you can also check this link :
http://cams-atid.mouchez.cnrs.fr/english/huguenot.shtml
for more information about the Hugeunots
I hope this helps
Marie-Pierre
Hello, no I do not know what town or part of France Mary (Marie) Teulon came from. Are you related to her? Are you in France as I see this is posted from the Provence Alpes, Côte d'Azur. I live in Lyon. Mary Teulon came to New Bordeaux, South Carolina. Google "New Bordeaux, South Carolina" and you will find information about the Huguenot settlers who arrived in 1762. It seems that someone should know where this group arrived from and if they came directly from France or via another country via the disporia of the French Huguenots during their persecution in France. Write with what information you have.
John

Hello! The last posts concerning Mary Teulon 1745 were written in 2002. I am a direct descendant of Mary Teulon of New Bordeaux, South Carolina. I am actually living in France and am trying to do research on her. Does anyone have any helpful information. I have my geneolgical line from Mary Teulon and Heinrich Weidemann. I don't Heinrich Weidemann's date of birth but he died on November 19, 1806 in the Abbeville District of South Carolina. I have more information if anyone is interested.

Eulalie's birthplace and baptismal place was stated to be Saint Domanique Parish, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence, France. However her father Horace Laurent Gautier were born in Menton, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence, France. I've attached a copy of the record. I am afraid this is all I have close to a possible location. In the Canadian Census records they listed the birthplace of their children, and as their hometown as Nice, France but that could have just been a point of departure.

Hello
I've just searched the Nice Birth and Marriage registers for you from 1883 to 1888. Charles Joseph Huard was not born in Nice in 1856. Equally, none of the children mentioned were born there and there is no marriage record of the parents between 1873 to 1883 - so Nice is not the town you need - Do you know the Eulalie Gautier's birthplace ? Usually weddings took place at the bride's hometown. Registers for the Nice area have been scanned and can be seen online at the cg06 website, but they are all in French - if you have any other information about another town for another family member, that would help.
Marie

I'm the same person - Suzanne -

Once I started researching the French side of the family and realised just how bad my French was I booked in for French classes. Do try and write in French - there are lots of free translation sites on the internet - it makes a better impression to be seen to be trying. Nobody called me an idiot for all the mistakes I made.
Find out the number of the departement that Nice is in. Go to
http://fr.groups.yahoo.com
and do a search 'genealogie' with Nice or the dept number.
Unlike USA, Canada, Uk etc online searches are really only just starting in France - in the parishes where I have looked scans are not in alphabetical but chronological order - so you need the parish 1st and must have an idea of the date - also beware orthographie - spelling - was not of prime importance eg the family I am looking for is written Décant/Décaux/Décan etc - so set yourself for a wonderful challenge

Suzanne

Hi

If you speak french then I'd join a French Group dedicated to the area. If you need more 'in depth' help then try fil d'ariane
http://www.entraide-genealogique.net/index_france.php

They are extremely helpful but now very busy I think. French records are not easy to search as they are not centralised and if you don't know the parish to search then you may be blocked - I joined a French group, made friends who helped me - good luck

Suzanne

They were Charles Joseph Huard Jr. (16 Dec 1883),Louis Eme Valerie Huard (03 Dec 1884- 27 Jan 1958) -my great grandfather, Camille Huard (13 Feb 1888- 1968), Eugene Huard (12 Mar 1900), and Alphonse Huard (1901)
. He emigrated to North Battleford, Saskatchewan in 1892. His family followed him in 1893. He died on 26 Sep 1914 in Saskatoon City Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was my great great grandfather. Any information about him such as his parents would be most helpful, and greatly appreciated. I have no information on were and when Charles and Eulalie got married. I have no information on Charles's ancestry. I do have info on his wife's ancestry but nothing on him.

A little information for anyone else who is looking for Donneauds...and a request for more information, hopefully also more genealogy of the Donneauds.
My gg grandfather, Pierre Donneaud, was born in Larche, Haute-Alpes but grew up in Aix-en-Provence. I believe his parents names were Casmir Donneaud & Marie Olivier. No one in that small side of my family knows the birth date or the exact death date except it was sometime after 1921 when he returned to Aix because of the Prohibition here. I know that he was apprenticed in Paris to Georges Auguste Escoffier shortly after the Franco-Prussian war in which they both served in the Navy. He married Eugenie Van Roosebeck Hostens in NYC around 1890. From what my grandmother told me, he worked in some of the finer restaurants of the day in New York City.
I cannot find him on any passenger lists to or from the States. It is possible he signed on as crew as he was a chef. Any ideas how I can look up crew lists? He is not on any census records, my gg grandmother is listed as head of house with their sons' names, but he is absent. I would also like to find out how I can get further information from France, what government agencies do I contact? How do I find out where he is buried? Does anyone out there have any genealogy for his family, any more information about the families Donneaud & Olivier?

I saw your posting regarding Larivee. I have family members named Laravea from Quebec who also ended up in Plattsburgh. I am thinking they originated from France, but I have hit a wall trying fit them into the Larivee. I have been told that Larivee is a variation of Laravea. Do you have any of this spelling? Thanks in advance.

Diana

Hello,
As Mary coast said, you can have access to the death record, which has to be recorded in the town he died even if an American citizen. To be on the safe side though, I would include a copy -copies- of proof that you are related. I have found that some towns want a proof of family membership before giving out ny information under the 100 year law.
good luck
Rita
