In compiling my family tree I have come across a certain William Wootton who was born in Rushall (UK) in 1840. His parents were Hannah and Richard and he would in time have two younger sisters.

Both parents died while the family was very young and this resulted in the children being split up, the sisters (Caroline and Mary-Ann)ended up in Walsall Union Workhouse.

William Wootton married Sarah (Cooper?) in 1861 and emigrated to the Newcastle area of New South Wales, Australia sometime afterwards.

I have some letters which William sent to his sister in 1910ish and in these he says he has a daugther named Hannah amongst his many children and that his wife Sarah died in approx 1904. William remarried afterwards but did not mention his new wifes name.

If anyone out there has any further info on William or his sisters I would like to hear from you.

William Wootton is my G.G. Grandfather. He was born 12 Feb 1840 at Rycroft, Staffordshire(as per birth cert). He was married to Hannah Cooper. His parents were Richard Wootton & Susannah Bagot, although her name appears as Hannah on the church baptismal records for the children. Would like to hear from you to exchange information.
