This may be a little late - I only just found your message through a search engine. I have an Ann Acomb on my tree. She married my 1st cousin 5 times removed (so my geneaology software says). Ann was born or baptised on 7 Jan 1800 in Wheldrake, Yorkshire and died in 1848. Her marriage to John Pottage was in Saint Denis York on 5 June 1822. Her parents were Joseph Acomb (b1770 Wheldrake - d 1841 Sand Hutton) and Isabella Thompson (b1777 York - d1849 Sand Hutton). Ann's younger brother Joseph Acomb jnr married Hannah Mosey and one of their daughters Emma (b 1836) married one of Ann's sons John Pottage jnr. (That one was quite a challenge for my family tree software!). Joseph Acomb snr's parents were John Acomb and Ann Kay. John Acomb's parents were Thomas Acomb and Mary (maiden name unknown) and Thomas's parents were John Acomb and Ann. I wonder whether any of this connects with your family.

Sue, it may be that Joseph is the sone of John Acomb and Ann Hutton. He was born in England March 11, 1832 and came to the US. I do not know the date of his immigration. The date I have for his death is Nov 16, 1900 but no place is listed. I hope this will help.

Bonnie

You may email me directly at bls5@hotmail.com
