Yes, my sister, Gloria, would love to talk to Gerfus. Her phone number is 419-363-3427. I was going to email it to you, and I thought I had your email address, but I couldn't find it, so I might delete this after you get her number. Does Ikie have a certain church to preach at? We went together a little bit when we were pretty young. He was wanting to be a preacher way back then.
Suzanne

I'm extremely new at this, but I have:
John Addington, born 1694, in South London, England.
John married Elizabeth, 1720, London, England.
Elizabeth, born 1698, in South London, England.
John & Elizabeth were the parents of Henry Addington, born 1727, in Newberry District, South Carolina.
Henry married Sarah Elizabeth Burson, in 1744.
Sarah born in England,1730.
Henry passed 7/25/1787, in District 96, Union County, South Carolina.
Sarah passed 3/14/1826, in Chester, Wayne, Indiana.
Henry and Sarah were the parents of John Addington, born 10/5/1745, in Bucks County, PA.
John married Elizabeth Heaton, 5/3/1775, in Bush River, Newberry, S.C.
John and Elizabeth were the parents of James, born 2/6/1789, in S.C.
This all leads to my grandfather, Harry Addington, son of Anthony Jack Addington, son of William Addington, son of Thomas and Nancy (Pierce) Addington, son of James and Nancy (Lewellan) Addington, son of John and Elizabeth.
I hope this is correct information, as I said, I'm very new and just joined Ancestry.com this evening.

1ST LIVED IN PHILADELPHIA, 1755 MOVED TO S.C.
Hello. My niece is also Eugene's daughter, from his first marriage. Could you please tell me how Gerfus?is. (I don't know how to spell her name.) I think she had married a man with the last name of Tickle? They had a son, Dane. Tonya said Eugene had died of cancer. Quite a shock. I hope Gerfus is still alive and well, my sister thought a lot of her.

I'm very interested in Isaac Van Dorn Robinson Johnson and his family. I'm a descendent of Isaac's brother Joshua M. Johnson, and I'm currently researching the Johnson family on Ancestry.com. Your post has already cleared up one puzzle for me: I've seen several variants of Isaac's middle name: Van Dar, Van Doran, etc., which also recurs in the names of other family member. For instance, I.V.D.R. Johnson had a nephew named Isaac Van Dorn Johnson, son of Issac's brother Elihu T. Johnson. "Van Dorn" rings true. Do you know where it comes from?

I'd be very interested in any help you can give me with the descendents of I.V.D.R. Johnson, and I'd be happy to share all the information I have. My e-mail is kaos1953@gmail.com

Liz: I am interested in the clippings about Thomas Addington. He was an associate of my great grandfather, Isaac Van Dorn Robinson Johnson (IVDR) ho was also a Civil War vet (Company E, 69th regiment, Indiana Volunteers Infantry) and were both involved in the United Brethren church as it developed in eastern Indiana. I have clippings of IVDR's life which were "chapters on the bu=iography of IVDR written vy Thomas Addington and published in a book I haven't identified (probably a "subscription history" of Randolph county or eastern Indiana.
Lisa,
William Adams is my great grandfather. I have info on him, and some on Martha McPhail Adams as well. I live just a couple hours from Addington, Ok and have visited there and taken photos. I found out from researching that the funeral home burned down, and all the records were lost. My Aunt Eva is still living at 98 yrs young, and she has told me so many stories about living in Addington.
You can reply to me, if needed, at my email address:
cherub3x@cox.net
It's easier since I don't visit ancestry often these days.

I do not know more information than you, but I am glad to meet cousins. My grandmother, Lena Addington Monroe, who lived in Oklahoma City for many years and died a few years ago, was Ted's sister. She loved Ted very much and always talked about her sadness after he died. Lena was born near Shamrock, Texas, moved to a Choctow Indian reservation after her father died, and then moved To Vera, Oklahoma near Tulsa.

Absolom Morgan Addington had a sister Sarah Jane b. abt 1834. A Sarah Jane Addington b. abt 1832,in Indiana, had a daughter, Melvina Addington, b. 1852 who married Mason Jaqua. In 1877 they left Rochester, Fulton Co.,IN and ended up in Michigan Bar. Mason's son, Rennie Lee, married a Bundock as did, I believe, Absolom Morgan Addington's son Charlie Boyd.
Do you have any information that might prove, or disprove a connection? Could Melvina Addington's mother also be Absolom Morgan Addington's sister?

ADDINGTON HISTORY? Grandfather John, GGF Henry

Could anyone please give me information on my line of Addingtons. My grandfather was John Addington. He was born in Fanin, Georgia in the late 1800's. His father was Henry Addington and he married Missouria Broglin in Georgia. I think his mother's last name was Chastain. I would also appreciate any information on Emily Missouria Broglin. If anyone is interested I will give you history on my grandfather John and my grandmother Josie Lonon and their kids. I know my line of Addingtons were in Georgia, moved to Arkansas then to Oklahoma for awhile and then back to Arkansas. Where did we come from originally? What were all the names and surnames? Thanks. Please post replys on the site but I would also appreciate an email directly to me at poet_yates@hotmail.com

Stephen Addington, 11/23/1828 > ?; NJ >CA

This gentleman, who was intimately associated with journalism in its early days in the county, was born at Orange, New Jersey, November 23, 1828. He spent his boyhood in Fishkill, New York, where he learned the trade of printer in the office of his father, who for half a century had been one of the leading publishers of that State. Stephen Addington worked here till 1855, when he started for California via the Nicaragua route. He almost at once took his place in journalism, buying out the “California Express,” published at Marysville, which he conducted for fourteen years. In 1870 he went to Colusa and became associated with W. S. Green and his brother, John C. Addington, in the publication of the Colusa “Sun.” He always took an active part in politics, was a firm Democrat and served on the Democratic Central Committee of the county. He continued in his newspaper work at Colusa till the summer of 1886, going to San Francisco, where he now resides. Mr. Addington was married, November 24, 1872, to Miss Lizzie Hart, of Colusa.

“Colusa County” – by Justus H. Rogers – Orland, CA – 1891 – pp 450-451
