      <description>Chris, I did find that she came to US in 1905 and settled in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, PA.  I also have a copy of her death certificate which lists her father as Andrew and mother as Mary.  All were born in Austria.  According to the passanger records there was also a brother of Elizabeth that came with her by name of Paul Afton.</description>

      <description>Pam any luck with finding your grandma?  I found  my G-G-Grandfather Martin Afton in the Jefferson County, PA, 1860 census and it listed a daughter by the name of Elizabeth, age 2.  However, it also listed the daughter being born in PA.  Hope this helps.</description>

      <description>Thanks for your speedy response.  Sorry, we don't have the same Elizabeth.  However, you did give me a lead.  I know my Afton family came from the Germany area (about 1850-1860) but unsure of exact place.  Perhaps our branches are from the same village.  Keep in touch, C.</description>
