This is a message to all the Ahumadas especially Mark: When i was typing in to a google search engine my great grandfather's name Francisco Pantoja Ylizaliturri, i came across Mark Ahumada's post. I am Jeanine Ylizaliturri's grandson, Jeanine was one of Francisco's daughters that went to the orphanage when their mother Anna died of polycystic kidneys. Its crazy to find the ties. My father is Raymond Rosas, who is Jeanine's son. I believe Sally Ellis is my dad's distant cousin. Well i just wanted to hear from any of you family members if I could, I have been trying to create a family tree. Algunos de ustedes hablan castellano?

Hello All of the familia Ahumada!
First I just want to say hello to Mark Ahumada, having an unusual name my whole life it is really strange to see someone else out there with the same name. I'm sorry to hear about your father and your family, but no my family doesn't suffer from this disorder. Secondly, just some background, my father was born and raised in Acapulco, and now lives in Costa Rica, I live in Laguna Beach, California. Here is another coat of arms I found (this comes from the municipality of Ahumada in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico based on the local seat of government Villa Ahumada): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Escudo_Ahumada.png

and check out this man, a Spanish Viceroy to Mexico: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agust%C3%ADn_de_Ahumada_y_Villa...

or have you ever thought you were of royal blood? well now you know you are, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dukedoms_in_Spain

Is the kidney disease Polycystic kidney disease? MYyhusband has a cousin, Ahumada descendant, who has had a kidney removed. The other kidney cannot be cured and cancer has set in. Transplant does not seem posible. The man who married Rosa Ahumada was Lorenzo Paco listed birth Mazatlan however we have always believed Mazatan near Hermosillo. At this point, Rosa was this man's gggrandmother. It's really sad he is 52 and looked great the last time we saw him about 4 years ago. Does this sound about right to your experience? Has anyone been treated at this stage or is it really hopeless? Thanks

Mark,

I'm so sorry to hear about your illness. I'm not sure if I can be of any help at all because some of our info seems to be criss crossed but my family also has poly cystic kidney disease and many have died from it. Several are alive today after kidney transplants as well.

My gggrandmother was Paula Ahumada. She married Francisco Ylizaliturri. They had my gggrandfather Francisco who married Carmen Pantoja who we are told was from Sinaloa (I think they got married in Mazatlan). Carmen died of the disease and passed it on to subsequent generations. So yo see, I have the Ahumada name and the Sinaloa connection as well as the disease, but they seem to come from different sides. Do you have any Pantoja ancestry in you (who perhaps married other Ahumadas)?

I wish you the best and hope to hear from you.

Sally Ellis

I found the birth cert for Carmen on genealogy.az.gov

I think that the son (Carmen Molina) may be the one that married Ernestina Acedo and had a daughter named Carmen Molina on 10 Jul 1946. She is my sister's mother-in-law (one of the nicest, sweetest people I have met, by the way :-)

I am looking for someone to agree with this or disagree with it.

Thank you

I am also told that it is possible that her
father was Governor of Chihauhau, Mexico (excuse the spelling if it is not correct) and that he was assassinated
sometime during the Mexican Revolution.
Sarah married Carlos Gamez. I know that they lived in
El Paso Texas where they had one, possibly more, daughters. This daughter is still living in California.
I noticed that you had Gamez in your surname list.
Thank you for any information

Hey Henrietta! What a shock to see my great grandfathers name in your family tree. I will send a copy of your download to my father. Please tell me how I can scan a document into an email and I will send you a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate. The consulate in Atlanta, Georgia was very little help to me but they did send me the phone number to the civil office in Guanajuato. I paid a young man who could speak better Spanish than myself to call for me. I was very surprised that it cost me more in time than money. I would like to get my grandfather's brothers and sisters birth certificates before I move onto ggreat grandfather Luz. My father said that if the birth occured before 1853 that the civil office takes your information and prints out a birth certificate. I feel I would have better luck with the catholic chuch in Huanimaro, Gto. This is so incredible!
riaria

Hi there....read your query and the names Luz and Antonia Castillo Ahumada from Huanimaro, caught my attention, as they were my great-grandparents. My grandfather Florentino was a brother to Francisco and there were other siblings listed in the records I had found. I did not know my grandfather, as he passed away before I was born, and do not know any of the family or their history. I have located my information from the Mormon Library, as they have microfilmed so many parish and civil records. Have you done any research there? Originally got Great-grandparents names from my mother's birth certificate that was issued by the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles. You may want to try them....they did not respond to the two letters I had sent a couple of years ago. You may want to check the LDS site on the internet.....familysearch.org....and look into their holdings of parish and civil records for the years that you want to search. Then you can order the microfilm and look through the info at their library. Am hoping my attachment went through...good luck

Grandfather Ahumada

I am trying to find out where my paternal (father's side) grandfather was born. Very little is know about him. My Grandmother divorced him after 10 years of marriage and he died young. This is what I know about him. His name is Lauro Saragosa Ahumada. He married my grandmother, Maria de Refujio (Mary Ruth) Sosa, in or around 1932, in Corona, California. He was drafted into the Army in 1942 (without a social security number). He served, was injured and exited the service in 1945, where he married a nurse. He died in 1946 in Ohio. He was a tall, very dark, Mexican, with large cow eyes, who played the guitar and sang in bars. He was survived by my father, Lauro Sosa Ahumada, Armida (Helen) Ahumada-Nishihama, Fernando Ahumada, and Betina (Tina) Ahumada-Koons. My Grandmother raised the family in the Imperial Valley (El Centro, California). My father says he remembers going to school in Mexicali, but the school has since burned down. My father also believes that his father was born in Guanajuato or Jalisco. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ahumada Name

Hello, I am beginning to research family names such as Salas, Acedo, Yanez, Vindiola, Molina and Ahumada. My GG Grandmother was named Marcelina Ahumada, she had a sister Carmen Ahumada and their father was Francisco Ahumada.(don't know anything about their mother.) Marcelina was born somewhere between Florence and Tempe Arizona around 1885. Her father Francisco, was born in Florence in the middle 1800's. Marcelina Ahumada married Francisco Molina in 1896 in Tempe, Az. They lived across from ASU. I would be thrilled if anyone had information they could share with me. I have been told that there are variations of the spelling of Ahumada. Such as Emada, Ymada, Yhumada, and Ayumada. Has anyone ever heard of these names? Thank You!!!!!!!!

My great-great grandmother was Marcelina Ahumada (b. late 1800s) and her father was Francisco. They were from Arizona.(as most of my family is) could you send me a copy of your tree?
