my grandmother is Celia garcia de alba now married as Celia Tirado and she is also from ciudad guzman and says there are no others (other than family) with this last name (garcia de alba - frm spain).. our family doesnt know much of other distant family and i would love to learn more.

Hello, my family come from Tecolotlan, in fact my grandmother´s name was Carmen Garcia de Alba Escobar. The politicias you are referring to are the son´s of my grandmother´s brother Manuel Garcia de Alba.

I know this is a very old posting but I am also an Alba! I really never heard of anybody else with the same last name. I don't know much about my family due to my father not being very close to them. I have been curious about the origins of actress Jessica Alba's family myself. I have ancestors that were Kings of Alba (not certain if Alba was located in Spain or Italy), and I think this is where the name originated. Here in America its such an uncommon name, so the chances are that you're all from the same immigrant as Jessica Alba.

Does anyone have an acount on how many Alba immigrants came to America? Their names? Their settlements?

So I would like to ask if anyone out there had any knowledge of the name of Tenorio de Alba.
I am a descendant of Manuel Lopez Tenorio de Alba,son of Alfonzo Lopez Salazar and Luisa Gomez Arellano.
Manuel Lopez Tenorio de Alba married Francisca Vega y Coca,daughter of Miguel Joseph Laso de la Vega y Coca and Maria Ygnacia Montoya.
Manuel Lopez Tenorio de Alba and Francisca Vega y Coca were parents of Josefa Tenorio de Alba who married Cristobal Martin,son of Matias Martin and Josefa Lujan y Dominguez.
Cristobal Martin and Josefa Tenorio de Alba were parents of Manuel Cristobal Martin who married Maria de los Reyes Trugillo(Trujillo).

Here's a sample of what I have on just one Alba, my ancestor Maria Antonia Anna Alba Martines de Sotomallor:

Maria’s place of birth is now spelled Cerro de Gallos, Aguacalientes. Gallos has long been a nickname for people from Aguascalientes, and may have been the name of an indigenous tribe at one time. The actual hill, or cerro is south of the state capital of Aguascalientes.

Benito, Have I written to you before?

My grandfather had a brother by the name of Benito and he and his brother Guadalupe married sisters from Kansas. My grandparents lived off and on in Kansas and some of my uncles and aunts were born there. Horton included. Could you be a decendant of my great uncle Benito? Although, I believe he stayed in Mexico. I was recently told that he had a shoe factory there.

My grandparents were in Horton and a few of my uncles were born there. My grandfather and his brother married two sisters. I don't know about a third. I know my grandfather had about six brothers (not sure if those are just the ones here in the states, but my Aunt has a picture of them). I understand they may have had a sister but I'm not sure. Hello, my maiden name is Elizabeth De Alba. I was born in CA. My mother is Mexican born in Tonaya Jalisco. My Father Alfonso De Alba I don't have much information on him. I know my parents met in Guadalajara, Jalisco. I know my father had or has at least one brother and maybe a sister. My baptism certificate says Blanca Elizabeth De Alba. My mother says I was named after my father's sister or aunt. I have never met him. I think he might live in CA. I was told my father was of Spanish descent although I don't know if this means his parents or great, great, great grandparents. Any info is appreciated.

Me da gusto Saludarte, El papá del Dr. Esteban Garcia de Alba Lepe fue Rafale GdeA Preciado, el se casó dos veces, una con Francisca Lepe teniendo a Esteban y a Eleuterio GdeA Lepe (no se si a alguien mas) y por otro lado con Ma de Jesus Tovar, teniendo a Dr. Pedro (casado con Silvina Michell) , Dr. Pablo (Casado con Juana Orduña), GdeA Tovar, (no se si a alguien más). Pablo a su vez tuvo a David, Angeles, Rafael que era mi abuelo, papá de mi papá. De que somos familiares, si lo somos.

Ojalá me pudieras enviar la relación de tios, primos, abuelos, bisabuelos, con quien se casaron, etc, fechas de nacimiento, etc, para poder complementar esta información. Actualmente estoy haciendo un arbol genealogico en una hoja de excel en donde estoy poniendo la mayor información, por niveles, quien se caso con quien a quien tuvieron etc. Te estoy enviando una copia de este, no está completo, me falta muchisima información. (no pude anexarlo a este correo)
