Hi,

Just read your posting and am taking a wild shot at this. I am the biological daughter of a woman named Antonia Frasqueri from Puerto Rico. I was adopted in 1956 by two great people from NY where I lived most of my life. I just recently came across my original birth certificate with Antonia Frasqueri's name on it. No name of a biological father.

Any way, if this helps you or if you have any information about Antonia please pass it along to me. A while back, I participated in a DNA study designed for adopted people and the results were quite interesting.

Best,

Tess Grande

Mine died in Coleman County. I have proof of that. I do know he had a 1/2 brother named Pedro (but I believe he went by the last name Martinez).

As far as I know, their parents did come from Spain but when I do not know. Tell me more about Pedro or Pete. Do you know if he was adopted or if he is an orginal Ledesma?

I am not sure. I still have not been able to find my grt-grandfather's information. All the leads that I have is that he had a sister named valeria and a half-brother named Pedro Martinez. I do know that at one point they lived in the Karnes City, Texas area when he was little. As for other brothers and sisters I have not proven this.

I saw entries that I believe could be part of my ancestry. My father was Samuel Uribe Ledesma. His father was Silvestre Ledesma and mother Teodora Uribe(maiden). He was youngest and only son and had sisters, Rosa L. Herandez, Juana L. Arredondo, Frances L. Ymbert, Carmen L. Benavidez. My mother was born in Reynosa, Mexico in 1926, Margarita, her mother Martina Mendoza married Nicolas Zuniga, she passed 1963 in Mexico, Nicolas Zuniga passed in Corpus Christi, TX. There were 3 girls, Margarita, Maria Magdalena, Maria de Jesus who all migrated to Texas and one son Octaviano Zuniga. All have passed. There are several living Ledesmas in Corpus Christi, TX

I am Debra Alcala DeWitt from North Texas where my grandfather Emilio Alcala settled after moving from Melchor Muzquiz Coahuila Mexico. Where in Mexico did your grandfather move after leaving Spain? Alcala de Hedares is near Madrid. The name Alcala may have originated from there.
I am looking for any relatives to Emilio Alcala born in 1899
and left Mexico to Texas as a teenager by himself and his family is also from Spain.
Good luck fellow Alcala!

I stumbled upon this thread when I was doing research about my family history. I would like to share what I know. My father's from Majayjay, Laguna, very close to Quezon province. He also talked about having relatives from Spain and Mexico. In one reunion, our relatives talked about how his dad,(my grandfather)traveled around the Philippines extensively. He was part of a theater group that traveled around the country. If you wanna know more, let me know. If any of you have seen a copy of our family crest I would like to see it. I have seen our family's coat of arms online, but I would like to compare it with what you've seen or have in your possession.
