<title>Re: Looking for names beyond grandparents</title>
      <link>http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/surnames.alcocer/1.1/mb.ashx</link>
<description>The Alcocer's came from El Pueblo de Alcocer in Spain. An Alcocer, Juan Colon de Alcocer landed in Peru in 1634 with the Vasquez expedition. The Vasquez expedition made it to Mexico City on or about 1638, thus the name Alcocer came to Mexico. It was customery in Spanish cultures that servants would acquire in batism the name of their master. The name Alcocer was adopted by may indigious people without direct decendance to Spain. Though, their was many decendants of the original Conquistadores who had children bore by the indigious population and acquired the surname. The Alcocer is over 2000 years old, dating back to the Visigogs where it originated. There are Spanish kings which are part of a line of "Alcocer." Most book treat the name Alcocer as a name of origin from the old Spanish customs.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Hope this will help.</description>
