Hello Melendez is such a large tree to keep together, but I feel you calling. I am family of the Melendez surname: Our family tree have been at a stand still, Our root for Melendez is Joaquina Melendez abt. 1895*. She had around 4 children that I know of, so far i have been able to find the three of them that i have seen with my own eye's. I am in search of Leoarcadia Roasaio that would be her child be Joaquina 'a daughter, our family also lived in viequies, p.r. I thank you so much.

I believe we are related in some way. My mother was an Alejandro from Vieques which was reached by ferry from Farjardo. One of my cousins has done extensive research on the Alejandro family. Maybe we can compare notes.

HI,I've just started to do a search on my family tree.My mom's maiden name is Carmen Modesta Alejandro. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, siblings include:Juan Ramon, Tomas, Gabriel, Providencia,Maria Antonia. She left Puerto Rico in 1940, and moved to New York City. Her Mother's name was Cruz Alejandro. According to Mom, her grandfather was Greek, who imigrated to the Canary Islands (Spain) to work in a sugar plant, where he met his wife.The owners of the sugar plantation moved to Puerto Rico and asked him to become the foreman. My great-grandfather then moved with his wife to Puerto Rico,and my grandmother Cruz and her sister Juana were born in San Juan. My Mom moved with her mother and sisters to Manhattan, NY in 1940, married and remained in New York until 1956 when they moved to Los Angeles, California.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

What my parents told me whether is my great grandfather or my great grandmother still confused cause this was told to me has a child of 13..They were Tiano Indians during that time once were slaves i don't how much was true or fact but i do know either great grandfather or grandmother came from spain..It'll be great and thanks for telling me that and also to your mom..Cindy
