Was this family, at any time, located in Champlain NY. My gr grandfather came from Champlain and his father Antoine (Anthony) came from Yamaska PQ. The family surname changed to so many different variations at that time that it makes it hard to follow. Our tree continued on as Allaire through my gr grandfather but his daughter used the Allard variations until she married my grandfather. I missed out on family stories as she passed away 11 years prior to my birth. She was born in 1871 in Hatfield, MA.

Hi Pat,

According to James Allard's death certificate (c1823-1904) and family stories, James' father's first name was Joseph Also, his wife (name unknown) was supposed to have been Native American - Mohawk.

Not sure where our connection would be...hopefully someday we can say we're cousins!

Hi my name is Pat. Just wondering if your James Allard's dad's name was David J. Allard II. And James was born in 1799 and married Phoebe Colby in 1829. If so we could be related.

Alphonse was born in Québec (Notre-Dame parish) on 20 Sep 1877 and baptised the 23rd according to the parish register there. He was the son of Guillaume Allard and Délima Dubé.
I count some 13 children of Alphonse and Zénaïde, all born in St-Augustin-de-Woburn:
Alphonse Guillaume; Alphonsine Zénaïde Anne; Eugénie Alma; Alphonse Gédéon; Desneiges Amélia; Irène Mélina; Clémence Rita; Edouard; Augustin; Délima Thérèse; André Adolphe; Clémentine Denise; Lucille; and Séraphin Liguori.
And a Marie who married a Sévère Lévesque under that name alone, but she may have been one of 4 girls named above for whom I don't yet have marriages, whose baptismal names were all prefixed with Marie.
Guillaume Allard was born in Québec on 12 Sep 1850 and married Délima Dubé on 6 Nov 1871 in Québec. He was the son of Jean Guillaume Allard & Marg. Duval. Délima was the daughter of Pierre Dubé and Marie Prévost. Data comes from Notre-dame parish register in Québec.
Guillaume can be traced back to François Allard who came from Normandie, France in 1666 and married Jeanne Languille in Beauport in 1671.
I do not have a marriage for Délima Thérèse at this point, but would be interested if you can provide. Or you can e-mail me if you prefer at allfam1664 at yahoo dot ca.
Daniel was among 10 (+?) children of John Allard & Janet McAllister who married about 1862 (Ontario). John was born abt 1842 in Wye, Kent, England. Janet in 1843 in Scotland.
No connection at all, actually. I'm just a genealogist trying to connect "all" (as many as I can) Allards in Canada/North America, which, of necessity causes me to look at Allards in England, France, et al. My roots are mainly French-Canadian, originally from France (as are yours too I expect, if I can get back that far). I appreciated the info in your tree about Albert Henry's ancestry - it was useful confirmation of what I had gathered/guessed. If you go any further back, I would welcome a heads up.

The data on your uncle may not be entirely complete. Available Ontario records are cut off for births after 1913, marriages after 1928 and deaths after 1937. But they advance a year at a time... if we live that long.. :)

I only have one picture of Jesse that I know of taken at his daughter Dollie's house in Los Angeles. He is standing with my mother, Jeanne.

The following is a link to an 1885 story from the NY Times about Jesse that I just discovered and I think you'll find amusing.

http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F30612FA3A...

Jon Johnson
Stillwater, OK

Dorothy (Allard) was actually born Dorothy Allord. The last name of Alvin Allard was changed on each of their birth certificates due to some legal thing at the time one of the children were born. This is based on information provided me by my father, Robert Joseph Allord who was Dorothy Allord's younger brother.

I can clearly tell we have a connection here...

Alvin Allard's father was Mose's Allard who was the son of Joseph J. Allard. Confusion comes in two Joseph Allard's living in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin. To compound this confusion, both Joseph J. Allard and the other Joseph Allard purchased 80 acres of land together.

Through information from a cousin who has even more information, it was last looking like both of these Joseph's could be releated.

I had some information in my original post from March 2010. However, I have since found out additional information. This is what I know about Josiah Allard (my gg grandfather):

He was born 16 Jan 1836 in Bethlehem, Grafton, New Hampshire, and died 06 Oct 1915 in Wittenberg, Shawano, Wisconsin. His father's name may have been Casper W Allard, and Josiah may have had 3 brothers and 1 sister (according to an old letter written by Josiah's daughter Myrtle). He married Sarah Elizabeth Murdock in New York on 01 Dec 1870 (when he was 32 and she was 16), and their children (who lived) were Blanche, Myrtle, Clayton, and Earl. Josiah and his family moved quite a bit: New York to West Virginia to Maryland to West Virginia to Wisconsin (Sarah, Josiah's wife, was ill, and they were trying to find a better climate for her).

My brickwall - Lovina Allard Oliver (born about 1807)

I'm looking for any information about Lovina (Allard) Oliver born about 1807 in Bolton, Vermont, and who married David Oliver in Morgan County, Ohio in 1824. I can't find any more information about her personally, though I have searched everywhere. At sometime in her childhood, her family moved from Vermont to Ohio (Washington county?). I believe that she had two...perhaps three children; William David Oliver (born 1826), Elizabeth Oliver (born 1828), and perhaps Sarah Oliver. I find her mentioned in her sister, Mercy Jane Allard Robert's will, but nothing else.

Her parents were Daniel and Mercy (Bickford) Allard from New Hampshire. Daniel died in Hocking County, Ohio in November 1849. I don't know what became of Mercy.

I am a descendent of David and Lovina Oliver's son William Oliver and Mary Jane Ellifritz.

Any information would be grateful. Could this woman have simply disappeared without leaving a trace? Did she die in childbirth? Any suggestions on finding out what happened to her would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Deanna Carlson (deanna.carlson@cox.net)
I've seen several posts about various Joseph Allards, but I don't think I've seen one about "mine" (he's my second great grandfather). He was born in 1837 in New York or New Hampshire, married to Sarah, and had 4 children: Blanche May, Murtle, Clayton W, and Earl Winfred (my great grandfather). I'm looking for any additional information about Joseph and Earl (eg, who are Joseph's parents and wife?). Please post here or you can e-mail me directly at krisbot@gmail.com Thanks!

Kristi Allard

I have been searching for the marriage between James Allard and Mary Ann Prier (Prior) in 1836 in New York. They lived in Colden, Erie, New York on the 1850 census. Both families arrived from England on the Brig Emma in 1834. James born in 1816, Mary Ann in 1820. Any assistance in finding documentation for this event would be greatly appreciated. The censuses state that his father was born in Mass. and his mother in Vermont.

He married Vera Ann Tracy, who was b. 1815 New Hampshire. They had 4 sons and 4 daughters. I have more info on the children of this couple if anyone is interested, but I'm struggling to find his parents.

Thanks,

Mary E. Packard

Re: David Allard

David seems to be son of Sarah and Hardy, because both households moved from Warren Co, KY to Big Bay, in Pope County, IL in 1802 and 1805 respectively. Cleverer researchers than I have evidence that both men fought at King's Mountain, but I cannot substantiate this.

David's wife Mary was daugheter of Aaron Burleson. This genealogy is pretty easy to find, since her brother went on to Texas. David and Mary had a son William (my line) who stayed in Illinois, a son Aaron Hardin who went on to Missouri and then Texas, I believe. Another son was also named David. David and Aaron married sister Nancy and Mary Weaver.

I can help further with William's line.
