Hello,
I am also researching Allen's from Ireland. I don't reconize your Allen's but, I was wondering if you had any info. on my family. Marmaduke and Francis Allen has a son Asa Allen. Marmaduke came to Americal from Ireland with two (2) brothers in late 1700's. Asa was born in Alabama in 1824. Asa married Dianah Morse in 1844.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Martha Allen-Barber

Hi
Unfortunately I do not have any information that includes those names. The farthest I go back is to William, George and John Allen's parents - Robert and Sarah. William was born in 1800 in the parish of Ballysodare, Sligo County, Ireland and married Margery Morrison Apr 19, 1822 [my line]. George, born in 1808 married Catherine Morrison and John, born in 1809, married Mary Alexander. Their father, Robert, was a clerk for a lawyer named Argu in 1776.
Any of that sound familiar?

Hi Patricia -
I'm wondering if you have any information on the children of George and John Allen.

Martha, I have reason to suspect a connection to the Marmaduke/Francis Allen line. I've found a great line of decendents for Marmaduke and Francis on rootsweb entered by Shira Allen (Shira Allen-Bounds). It includes info on their children Hollis, James, Miriam,Asa, Benjamin,Jackson, Margarite, Sarah, and John. Can you share with me some of your research regarding ancestry. What is your source for stating that Marmaduke came to America from Ireland with 2 brothers? Who are the brothers? You may email me at jallen3106@att.net if you prefer.

In my information (which came from a source in Mt Forest - Mary Allen)- William was born in 1800 in the Parish of Ballysodare, Sligo County, Ireland & he married Margery Morrison on the 19th of April 1822 in Ballysodare. [ref. LDS IGI Ireland F0005]. They came to Canada in 1847 and he apparently died 10 days after arriving. They did have a son, called William - born 1838 - who married Rebecca Rothwell. My info has Wm & Margery's daughter, also called Margery, marrying Robert Bell from Arthur Twnship, and dying in Brandon Manitoba- could this be the one? Lots of other siblings in Arthur Twnshp.
