Adam Allinson & Mary Clark

Hello,
I am trying to locate birth records for Adam Allinson & Mark Clark. They had 3 children for which I found Christening records in Drax, Yorkshire, England. The Christening record for their oldest son, Thomas Allinson (b:1791) says:
"Son of Adam Allinson Blacksmith of Drax. Son of Adam Allinson by Mary his wife."
"Mary, daughter of Thomas Clark, Farmer, of Wiston, by Elisabeth his wife"

Any help finding records for Adam Allinson, Mary Clark or their parents is appreciated. Ship records to USA would put Adam Allinson born about 1765 and Mary Clark Allinson born about 1768.

Thank you,
Carol Allinson Dove

Lydia's mother was Jennie Leah Allinson, who was William's daughter. My email is wingphat@aol.com. Could you please send me information to that address. Thank you. Are there any families you might need help with.
Lula Margaret Allinson b. Dakota Terr.

I am searching for ancestors of my grandmother, Lula Allinson born July 16, 1887 in the Dakota Territories according to family stories in SD according to a census. She was raised by her Aunt in Ennis, Ellis Co. and Dallas, TX. I believe her aunt may have been the sister of her father. If so, her name was Ellen Jane Allinson Evans, wife of Sidney M. Evans. Their daughter was also named Lula. MY Lula appears in her aunts home as a 12 year old in a 1900 census for Ellis Co. TX. It lists Lulas fathers birth state as Wisconsin and her mothers as South Dakota. Her aunt lists her own place of birth as Wisconsin and her parents both born in England. Lula married 1st Wm. Thomas Moore in Dallas, Oct 2, 1907, and she married 2nd A. Irving McNamee. She died June 20, 1930 in Kansas City, Ks. All of the vital records for her death list parents as unknown. My father knew nothing of his mothers family. I am guessing that Lula's grandmother Allinson might have been named Lula since both granddaughters were given that name. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: John and Robert Allinson

Yes and I have found a Mark Allinson in the 1870 census of Shasta Co CA. He is a patient in the hospital and listed his nativity as England. Age indicates he was born in 1819. Of course I don't know that that is the WI Mark. He listed his occupation as miner. I have also trailed a Wm but again don't know if it is the correct one. He b.1806 is in the 1850 census of Grant WI with wife Ann b 1819 both of England. In his household is Isabella 11, John 9, Hellen (or maybe Ellen?) 7, Eliza 8, Wm F. 3, and Francis 1. There is also a Thomas in JO Daviess IL 1889 census who says he was born in WI in 1843 with wife Ruth. This Thomas 1843 doesn't appear in either of the WI households in 1850, UNLESS he is the Thomas 1849 in the household of Thomas 1809 Eng in LaFayette Co WI. Both Thomas of LaFayette & Wm of Grant named daughters Isabella. I believe Isabella d/o Thomas married Geo Wilkinson and Isabella d/o Wm married Wm J. Leindecker.
The aunt of my grandmother, Ellen Jane Allinson Evans b. 1849 could possibly be the Hellen/Ellen 1841 but the dates of their different births are 8 years apart. I need to go back and inspect the census records for both counties in IL & WI and see if there might be any other clues.

I think I may be a Great,G,G,G,G decendant of the Allinson's John and Robert who you may be looking for. They were decended from Bishop Wearmouth Sunderland in Durham and all have similar names such as Robert, John, William etc., My own father was John Liddle Allinson (Liddle) being an Allinson name. I will know in a few weeks time if this is definately the case and if they are my relations I will gladly share my infomation with you!! I am a generation ahead from the relatives you require information on and still working back over look forward to sorting this out Lynne wilson

Thanks for the response! I have hit the "brick wall" with the Allinson family. I know that my grandfather was sent to live with an aunt in Philadelphia when he was a young boy. (around 1901, to work as a water boy on the subway system being built) There MAY have been Allinson relatives in the city at this time - I don't know. I have them mainly living in the Burlington county area. I will look into the cemetary you wrote of, and maybe their will be a connection. Again - many thanks for your response.

Hi Sally - so nice to hear from you! I do have the info about Elmer being with the Harkers in 1880. Then I show him on the 1900 census as a lodger in the home of John Hall, in Lead, Lawrence, South Dakota. After that, I only have a few scant newspaper articles that mention him, he went into the same business as his father. Maybe I'm telling you things you already know. I would be very interested in knowing more about him. I don't know if or when he married or if he had children, etc. I don't know when or where he died, I have no vital stats. I actually know more about some of his siblings than I do him. If you want info about them I can certainly provide you with what I have.

Hi Carol, Thomas & Jane Allinson and their children appear in the LaFayette Co. WI census in 1850 and they also appear in the Jo Davies, IL census in 1850. At least there are two families that have an elderly Mrs. Corsin, (spelling different in each document) living with them. I am researching the William Allinson family of Grant Co.WI in 1850 with several children including ,my ancestor, Francis M. Allinson as a 1 year old. I will contact you regarding research that has been done with other people. Thanks for responding.

I am interested in your research for Allinson's in this county of IL. I am working on the Allinson family that were in Grant Co., WI at the same time period, right across the state line. I have a Ellen J. Allinson that was married in Grant Co., WI to Sydney M. Evans in 1865. It seems reasonable that most of the Allinson's in that area were related. Look forward to hearing from you.
