My wifes paternal great grandfather's name is Jose Gonzalo "Charlie" Almonte. He died in 1922 in sabana iglesia in the santiago, cibao region of the dominican republic. He was born in spain aprox 1870 and came to the dominican republic fleeing a war in the late 1800. I have not been able to find out what area of spain or what war he was fleeing. Maybe someone can help fill in those blanks. I also heard the was another spaniard Zacaria Lorenzo "Lelo" Franco that came from spain fleeing a war also, to that same region. Maybe Franco, charlie and victorIa came to dr together. Charlie and victoria can be related nobady I ask that new him knows anything of his family. And he left spain at 7 years old but I know nothing of his parents, or if he had any siblings, help if you can.

My great great grandmother was Victorina Almonte born some time around 1880 and she lived in the Cibao Region of the island. Perhaps that'll help

My great great grandmother's name was Victorina Almonte (married to Francisco Antonio Rosario) and was probably born some time around 1880. She lived in or near Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Hopefully that helps..

My Great Grandfather and Grandfather were both Born in Petterano Sul Gizio. It may well be that we are related. I am in the process of obtaining the family tree and if you email me I can let you know what I find.

Hi Fred. I believe your Great Grandfather is My Great Grandfather Dionisio Almonte's Brother. My Grandfather (Errico Almonte)was born in Petterano Sul Gizio in 1898 and immigrated to Ellis Island and on to Rhode Island in the early 1900's.

Hi – I'm Fred Bremerman. I’m starting to research my family history and this there may be an Almonte link between us. My Great grandfather was Lorenzo Almonto of Petterano Sul Gizio. He and Maria Schiappa were parents to my grandfather Thomas Edward Almond, born in 1907. Lorenzo immigrated to Branford, CT in early 1900's. Changed his name to Almondo for some reason?

Can you direct me toward Almonte family history?

So my mother is a Almonte who married a Savella she was raised in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. Her Fathers name is Honorato and her Mothers name is Alfongs who was born around 1885. I think she had a a brother by the name of Eladio who was 16 she was only 3 yrs old.

ur a filipino?that's great to learn.I've been searching for a closer link.My grandpa was born in Manaoag Pangasinan Philippines.I really dont know if my grandpa had siblings.It's been very difficult to find out the history on how the family ended in manaoag.I know my grandpa lived all his life there.but I know from a land title that His mother's maiden name is Maria De Guzman...kinda difficult to track down my great granfather's name...gosh...if u have any info it'll be great to solve the mystery of our bloodline.makes me think like "Da Vinci Code".

I don't know whether this is part of the small group you're speaking of, but I have an Agata Maria Nicolaia Almonte, daughter of Saverio Almonte and Elisabetta DeTertio. Agata married Francesco Paolo Savini, in 1799 in Nocciano, Abruzzo, and she had been born in 1779 in Nocciano. Saverio was born in 1753, and I have no death date for him.

lots of almontes at the turn of the century in higuey. six sisters from the cibao region
moved to higuey in the 1800's. none of them married, so the name kept getting passed on.
few almontes are left now in higuey. would love to find out any and all info you may have. muchas gracias.
