Looking for the family of Julius ALONZO, born in Piedras Nagras, Mexico, then moved to Bastrop, Texas in 1914. Word is his family was originally from Spain but I have no further info on him.

He had a son:

b. 1886 Mexico, d. 6 Apr 1939
m. Juanita YRUEGAS b. 1891 Mexico, d. 1983 Louisiana.
Both are buried at St. Matthews Cem, Monroe, LA.

Hi there - I know we had an Alonzo in the family living in Bakersfield c. 1947. It's possible there is some relation, although we don't really have much more info than you. Our Alonzo relative left the family only a few years later and was never seen again.

D Alonzo: We live in Riverside. California. I found that my Alonzos came from Ario de Rayon, Michoacan, Mexico. About 3 brothers came to the US about the 1920's or thereabouts. What do you know about your Alonzo relatives? Where in California do you live? Start with yourself and go backwards. What information do you have about Alonzo? The Alonzo name is quite common in all states in Mexico.

I am half Loter. My grandfather on my mothers side of the family was Albert Loter, born in Texas. He married a Macalister and moved to the state of Washington where he farmed until he could farm no longer. My mother was Dorothy Wanteta Loter and she had two sisters and a brother. How are we related?

There were two other brothers: Jesus b. 1890 and Maurilio b. 1905. Jesus went to Calif and Maurilio went to Illinois. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
My name is carrie and I have tracked my great-grandparatens
to Villa De Hidalgo in San Luis Patosi, Mex.
There names were Otilio Alonzo and Eutimie Palomo. They
were married in Villa De Hidalgo on Aug. 08,1883. I do
not know if they were born there. One of their sons. Who's
name was Decidero Alonzo was my grandfather.
If you, know anything about these Alonzo's, I would love too
hear about them. I have not been able to find out anymore

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Lance Cpl. Joshua C. Alonzo, 21, of Dumas, Texas, died November 22 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

George Henry Alonzo Mayo b. 1836 Jacksonville-Duval County, Florida Name appears land and census records. Spanish Mayos came from Barcelona to Louisianna to Jacksonville. Looking for Alonzo connection.

The names you mentioned are unfamilar to me. But the towns of Leon GTO and Topeka are hits on the target. My great grandparents came from Leon and settled in Topeka Kansas around that time. Does the names Angel Estrada and Celestina ring a bell with you. Their childrens names were Frank, Cruz, Natalia,Chepe Maria and Louis. Let me know I would appreciate any more information.

Tomas Alonzo married Jacinta Zendejas were From Leon, Guanajuato in Mexico and moved to Topeka in 1917. Rosendo, Florence, Rodolfo, Ruben, Teresa, Elena, Diana, Raul and Rene.

From what we have determined, our ancestor Petronila Alonzo (Alonso?) was from somewere in the southern Philippines. But we are not sure. The baptismal records of her children with Johann Jakob Steffan (from Watwil, Switzerland) stated she was a mestiza española from Tondo. We have traced the Switzerland connection but can't go any further than Petronila.

My family is from the Philippines and my mom is an Alonzo decendent; maybe we're connected (and that'd be GREAT if we were, because we're still trying to piece together the family tree)!

My mom's gggrandmother was PETRONILA ALONZO. She had four kids with JOHANN JACOB STEFFAN: Carlos Enrique Steffan, Amelia Steffan, Ana Paulina Steffan and Arturo Nicanor Gregorio Steffan.

I only hear that Galacia, Spain is where some Alonzo's originate. I have not found any evidence in La. that any of them came from the Canary Islands. I do know that an Alonzo married a "Ruiz" whose family came from Canary Islands. Our Alonzos came to Louisiana sometime between 1820-1830 (maybe before, but I can't find documentary evidence). I've traced back 9 generations to the Alonzos that never left Spain: Josefa Mazeda and Andres Alonzo.
