I checked our genealogy and my great uncle Felix had 2 sons- Amador and Esteban.

My great-grandfather Felix Alvarez's wife was named Maria Feliciana Dominguez

My great-uncle Felix Alvarez Jr's wife as named Monica Pasillas.

My Grandfather's 2nd wife was name Bonifacia Salcido. Her parents were Abelino and Brigida Salcido.

My great-grandfather did pass away in Feb of 2011 in Northern CA. From what we know he stated that he was born around Sept 14, 1914. He stated that he was born in El Paso, TX but I haven't been able to find anything in the county records.

I know his sister lived in TX and just recieved confirmation that her name was Bonifacia. We don't know much about his family in TX,

He was married to Monica Cruz who passed away in 1989. His sons are Steve and Amador of CA.

I would really like to know more about his birth information.

I had a great grand father named Felix Alvarez. He was born in 1866 and died 1931. He had a son named Felix Jr who was my grandfather's brother.

I know that we have relatives in Presidio. Perhaps we should collaborate?

Yes, I believe so. I confirm the sister Jacinta Alvarez married to Baldomero Sanchez. I am not sure about Ernesto or the twin thing (I think I came across the twin thing also but am still trying to confirm it.)

Baldomero Sanchez and Francisca Sanchez were brother and sister. They married Jacinta Alvarez and Filiberto Alvarez who were also brother and sister.

Filiberto and Francisca were my grandparents.

I just started to trace my family history and my GM is Jovita Alvarez Enriquez born 1923/Mex. She was from Oj/Chiuahua,Mex. but currently resides in TX. Her father my GGF is Fernando Alvarez and his father was Favran (sp?)Alvarez. I do know I have Alvarez family in TX & California, but not very close to them. Does your research show any of these names?

I am looking for information on my great great grandparents jesus alvarez and juana Hernandez i think jesus was from chile . they had a daughter at the quick silver mines in new almaden california her name was esperantia alvarez born on may 26 1891. i was told that she was left at the san juan bautista mission as a baby. so she never knew any thing about them. i have a baptism record for esperantia she was baptised on july 5th 1891 at St joseph in san jose. her sponsors where ismael victor and alberto hernandez.

I am related to DIEGO "Don" MIGUEL ALVAREZ Sr, b. 7 May 1743 in Oviedo Spain - his wife was BARBARA FERNANDEZ VACINA de la MEDINA, b. 1780 in Yucatan, Central America and d 15 Oct1850 in Eight Mile, Mobile, Alabama.

They had 11 kids (6 boys and 5 girls). Diego was one of the Founders of MOBILE, ALABAMA.

My ancestor..Hilario Alvarez b Aguas?..father was Jose Felipe Alvarez b 1814, his father was Ventura Alvares, whose father was Jose Maria Alvares Tostado' whose father was Carlos Alvares Tostado...from Aguas. Isn't that interesting?

Do you have info regarding Alvarez (friar or soldier) from Spain who went to Mexico then to Philippines? Or from Spain to Philippines? I am doing a research on our roots. Accordingly, we descended from a Spanish friar who lived in the Phillipines a long time ago and married a local woman when the country was still a Spanish colony.

Congrats on your Ancestry search. None of the names that you stated match my tree. I do have Fermin Albares (Alvarez) married in 1789 in Juarez but none of his children were Fernando Alvarez. Gold luck in your quest.

Just saw you message, Aug 2010. My GGM war Pilar Orcasitas who married Demetrio Alvarez. They had several children, Bernabe, Matea, Jesus, Gumesinda, Demetrio, Mariano (my Grandfather), Encarnacion, Pablo, and Ynez. I've traced the Alvarez family up to 1789. I'm trying to do a research on our family tree. My paternal grandfather told us that our family descended from Spanish brothers who came in the Philippines so hundreds of years ago. They married the local women in central Philippines, and wherever they may have gone to. One of these brothers happened to be a friar and it is from him that our family directly came from. My grandfather was born sometime late 1880s or early 1890s in southern Philippines.

Any info from your part of the world will be appreciated.

I just found out that my grandfather was Erie Alvarez his son was name Gregory, and my fathers sisters were name Annie , Margie, Virgina My grandmother she was from colorado her name was aurelia Deanda. I have alot of family their in colorado but don't know them. Alot of my families live in the Los Angels area. and some in Coalinga Ca.So i don't think we are related sorry. the Deanda family is Charles, Ruth, Edna,James, Ester, Virgina, Velarkine , and Lillian. And the Alvarez family are Gregory,Margie, Annie,virginia

Very interesting to hear from you, yes Joseph(Jose) did marry twice, and Rosina was my g. Grandmaother's half sister. Joseph's second wife was Rose Ann EAGER and they had 6 children as far as I have found so far my g. Grandmaother Alexandra Mathilda ALVAREZ being one of them. I have a mass of information regarding the ALVAREZ, BUTLER and my own family ADAMS and can send you what I have, but you will need to reply to my direct email address so that I can send you files etc. ok. I think its a shot in the dark but here i go. My father was born in Argentina back in august 6 1939 by an Italian lady (unknown name that sounds like Frioso) and an unknown man. The story I was told was that my father, Saul Osvaldo Alvarez, was abandened by his mother as a young child and left an uncles. I know of one brother that died young (I think his name was Roberto, but not sure) and 2 or 3 sisters. I met 1 sister, they call her Mimi. I dont know what her last name is but I know she has a grand daughter named Maria Jose _____. there is also someone on that side of the family name Haide or Hayde. All the people I mentioned are in Argentina but I cannot find them.

In the 1960's, Saul took his wife, Francisca Soria, to Boston, Ma. I'm guessing that boston is near NJ and he might of travel in search of the man you speak of. Well, after a couple of years and 1 daughter(Nancy Alvarez-1969) they returned to Chivilcoy, Buenos aires, Argentina because Francisca's father was dying. In 1981, they packed up and moved to Sacramento, CA. with 2 more kids in tow (Augusto Joaquin-1972 & Flavia Edith-1978) My parents are still alive but getting personal information out of them is harder than you can imagine. I would really like to reunite with all my family that remained in Argentina.

I am researching the name ALVAREZ de La Rosa, especially in connection with the Spanish origins, any information will be greatly appreciated.

The person in question is my Great Great Grandfather Joseph (Jose) ALVAREZ (De La Rosa). He was born in Spain, indicated as probably Seville, where his father Francis(co) ALVAREZ was a Master Mariner.

He immigrated to England around 1855 and appears in the Census of 1861 with his occupation shown as “Doctor, Montpellier University, France” and as a “Surgeon” on his son’s marriage certificate and on a subsequent census.

He married twice, his first wife was Alice Caroline LAWSON who died shortly after the birth of their first child Rosina. His second wife was Rose Ann EAGAR with whom he had six children.

He died in 1896 in West Ham, Essex, United Kingdom
