Born 20 July 1817 in Canton, OH
Died 27 Sept 1901 in Winneconne, WI.
Married Hannah Lumley on 12 April 1848 in Valparaiso, IN.

Children were: Elizabeth (Alyea) Cartwright, Mary Jane (Alyea) Sample, Nancy (Alyea) Fluke Evans, Louis (Kate Nesbitt) Alyea, Alice (Alyea) Champion, John F. (Mary Maxwell) Alyea, Susan (Alyea) O'Neil, Ellen J. (Alyea) McKenna, Hannah Alyea, Malinda (Alyea) Davis, & George (Augusta Labes) Alyea.

On May 21, 2011 John will be receiving a new Civil War Military Marker. The installation and dedication will be done by the Sons of the Union Civil War Veterans, Old Abe Camp #8. Winneconne Village Cemetery at 1:30pm

saw your 2004 note today re conusion on Mors, I have been searching for months and months, and the best source I can come up with thinks Mors may just be a short spelling of Desmarest,,I have found nothing that documents a John Mors Ellen Kierstede marriage, here are sources that think John Mors was a son of Joost and Maria Meyer who as you know are parents of Annajte Mors Demarest, still another source thinks John Mors is son of Joost Demarest's parents, David and Matie Debaun. Where all that comes from those sources can't tell, there seems to be no documentation of any of that, also in the 1964 Demarest Genealogy,
number 5-201 Annajete Demarest is noted as possible(note ?) married to a David Ackerman, no date of marriage but a bp. date for him 10 Oct 1733.There is data on David but his parentage is inconsistent with another David Ackerman who appears in the same genealogy. Given the fact that Annajte b.1740 (confirmed),married Isaac Alyea 17 July 1753, at age 13 or so and since they were together til they died in Warwick, NY, it is likely that the Ackerman material is inaccurate. The most definitive work I have seen on this is the "genealogy report of Peter Stanley Jackson" when you call it up go to generation 8, lot of stuff there you might find helpful,

My interest in Isaac and Annajte Demarest Alyea is they are by GGGG grandparents, they had a dau. who married a Bertholf, they had a dau, who married a Peter Lewis,who had a son,David, who had a dau,Lillian, who is my grandmother.
By the way if you ever get to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, there is a silver two handled bowl that Ellen's father a noted silversmith made

The 1861 census of Ameliasburgh twp. shows Maria Alyea, age 89 (presumably Maria Banta) living with 18 year-old John Alyea (b. about 1843. I am presuming that he is a grandson, but of which of her children?

Does anyone know?

Marie Kent was my third cousin, I am also on John Readford Alyea's twig. He was my great,great grandfather. I am still looking for the burial site for Susanna Thompson Alyea.

George Alyea shot and killed his wife in Chickasha, Oklahoma

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 9 July 1903, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

George Alyea, an elevator manager at Chickasha, shot and killed his wife and attempted to take his won life. His chances for recover are few.

John Readford did not die in 1893, he died in 1864.

Ira Grover Alyea's father was Robert True/Thompson Alyea born 1833 in OH and died after 1900 in NE.

Robert's father was John Readford Alyea who was born 1806 in NJ and died in 1893.

John's father was David Isaac Alyea who was born 1766 in NJ and died 1844 in IN

David's father was Isaac Alyea who was born 1732 in NJ and died 1805 in NY

Isaac's father was Peter Alyea / Allie who was born between 1692 - 1695 in NJ and died 1760 in NJ.

Peter's father was Jean/Jan Alyea/ D'Ailly who was born in 1663 in France and died 1718 in Delaware

Jean's father was Nicholas who was born 1635 in France and died about 1700 in unknown location.

Yes, I have info on your Louis E. Alyea! He was born 7 Sep 1852 in Winneconne, Winnebago Co, WI the son of John & Hannah Alyea.

He married Kate Ann Nesbitt around 1880 in Winnebago Co, WI

They had the following children: Gertrude, Luella, Pearl, and Ruby Alyea.

moved to Lapeer Mi.
Warren md to a Lydia Louisa Bradshaw had a dau who was
Eliza Maria Alyea who md 2nd a James Brown.
