Re: Alyea

saw your 2004 note today re conusion on Mors, I have been searching for months and months, and the best source I can come up with thinks Mors may just be a short spelling of Desmarest,,I have found nothing that documents a John Mors Ellen Kierstede marriage, here are sources that think John Mors was a son of Joost and Maria Meyer who as you know are parents of Annajte Mors Demarest, still another source thinks John Mors is son of Joost Demarest's parents, David and Matie Debaun. Where all that comes from those sources can't tell, there seems to be no documentation of any of that, also in the 1964 Demarest Genealogy,
number 5-201 Annajete Demarest is noted as possible(note ?) married to a David Ackerman, no date of marriage but a bp. date for him 10 Oct 1733.There is data on David but his parentage is inconsistent with another David Ackerman who appears in the same genealogy. Given the fact that Annajte b.1740 (confirmed),married Isaac Alyea 17 July 1753, at age 13 or so and since they were together til they died in Warwick, NY, it is likely that the Ackerman material is inaccurate. The most definitive work I have seen on this is the "genealogy report of Peter Stanley Jackson" when you call it up go to generation 8, lot of stuff there you might find helpful,

Hugh Wallace, Watervliet, NY, HWallace@nycap.rr.com.

My interest in Isaac and Annajte Demarest Alyea is they are by GGGG grandparents, they had a dau. who married a Bertholf, they had a dau, who married a Peter Lewis, who had a son,David, who had a dau,Lillian, who is my grandmother.
By the way if you ever get to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, there is a silver two handled bowl that Ellen's father a noted silversmith made

I have a lot of information on both lines. Also have information sent me by Marie Kent. I think her deceased husband had submitted a tree to World Family Tree, which is how I first found her, but will have to look up the details on which one.
Maria Alyea (1775-after 1860) m. Haring, Eckerson

I am searching for the parents of Maria Alyea born 1775 in Bergen Co., NJ. (Some websites have her born 1760 which is when her first husband, David Abrahams Haring was born, but two censuses indicated a birthdate of 1775.) She married David A. Haring at the Tappan DRC on 23 Dec 1792. He was born 15 Dec 1760, the son of Abraham A. A. Haring and Jannetje Verbryck.

He died 2 May 1801. Maria married Jacob T. Eckerson on 2 Jan 1803. He adopted her daughter Elizabeth Haring, who was subsequently known as Elizabeth Eckerson. They lived in Harington Township, Bergen County. Maria was agin a widow by the 1860 census.

I believe she is likely a granddaughter or great grand daughter of Peter Alyea and Margrietje Van Voorhees, but am having no luck figuring it out.

Any clues appreciated
